Looking good as always GraPhiX, this has just reminded me i had started making a modern bus stand quite a while ago for my UK roads and Victorian Row Houses, but never got around to texturing it, i think i might finish that off this weekend and dump it in my free models thread to go with yours.

Thanks Belidos, I'm not sure of the colour scheme I seem to have a block lol most Victorian lights were black or brass, I'm not sure what other colours would be ok, I've tried some and they did not look right

Glass seems to have settled down now I used two variations on the bus shelter the roof I did green and the panels with a slight frost, the only issue I have at the moment is using transparency with emissive the transparent texture tones down the emissive quite a bit I have to use a level of 130 for lights so if you look carefully at the above video near the end you can only just see the dirt on the glass if I go higher with the alpha the emissive does not show through

I am also trying to create a script that will turn emissive on and off struggling with it a bit atm though

The problem with texturing assets for game engines, and this is also the case in many of the mainstream engines, is the shaders have trouble rendering pure black. The trick is to use a very dark grey or a very dark blue/grey instead, this give the shader enough variance in shade and colour to be able to highlight and lowlight the shadowed areas etc.

hi Guys
thank you for the suggestions, here in lays the problem I want the script to be 'generic' I want to swap out models completely so that any model made with emissive can be copied (without emissive) and swapped out so it gives the effect of on and off, i want it to be simple for those people that cannot create assets.

i have two lampposts atm one with transparency on so it shows the emissive and one with transparency off so it hides the emissive i want to be able to swap them out with a script i am sure it is possible i am just too dumb to work it out

I know we have cones coming out of our ears but I don't think we have PBR ones and I don't think they can do this

Hi GraPhiX. love all these free stuff you make.

i know i am not allowed to ask on the forums for stuff, but i need a favor.
would you be interested in making something that looks like a round drilling rod with some animation. it does not need to be very fancy or complex just some model that i can use on my oil rig that looks like it is drilling. i have wings 3d and have paste some stuff together just for an idea and have taken a screen shot to show how it needs to look. i am clueless with modeling.
So if you are interested i will post the pic.

thank you for all your hard work.

thank you here is what i have in mind.
its just an idea you can change it as you like. i would just like the shaft in the middle to be animated if possible ,it must
turn or spin around. the two side panels is just like and support for the drill shaft . something like this i can add in between two steel frames or anything that might work and then with an lua script i can make it also to go up and down as wel.

GraPhiX thank you so much. You have a very generous heart.

The hole idea is to have some kind of drilling mechanism / shaft that i can place in between the girder frames that you see on the pics, so that the shaft points down it to the ocean and the shaft spins around giving the impression that its drilling something. so it is ok if the shaft is a little bit long

Not sure if this is what you had in mind, I have not rigged it for animations yet I need to see my scale tool on your map.

the top four engines will not spin with the shaft in the proper animation, is this what you are looking for? (this is PBR but I think you are using DX9 is that right?)

Hi GraPhiX. sorry for the late reply. thank you so much that is perfect for what i had in mind.

Here is three pics.
i have place the measuring tool in the middle between the frames , the bottom of the tool is the same height as the floor grid.
Also i have used the measuring tool and checked the distance from the floor grid to the water, it is another 2 meters down.

Thank you

Hi PCS

so would you like me to add about 4 meters to the drill ? at the moment it is the same size as my scale tool.

so what I am thinking is adding 2 meters to the bottom (going through the terrain so I will keep the current 0 at ground level and go -2 below ground) and add 2 meters to the top
does this sound ok?

Ok PCS I have the final model for you have sent it via 'we transfer' I was worried about the drill engines overheating so I have done you some fans too (I have left them separate to keep the polys down and so that you have a choice) it is a little fiddly to line them up but if you put one into place then use 'Shift Extract' I find it easier to place the others enjoy

Quote: "Very nice! Any chance you can bundle your freebies and put them on the store as a pack?"

sorry I missed this post, I have kind of created a pack for the store my 'All models pack' any model listed in this thread that was not made as a private request will end up in that pack and any future model I make that is not private will be in the pack (updated automagically) all you need to do if you have the pack is look out for my posts or check for store updates in GG weekly.

I do have a price of $20.00 on the pack this is to cover my costs for all the software I have bought to create these assets you do not have to buy it I will still be posting free models here but will be adding more to the pack.

you can find my pack here https://www.tgcstore.net/pack/11011 it includes everything I put on the store and models from this thread.

I have started working on a Lights pack, different fittings etc.. this is a single Fluorescent fitting with two tubes 1x lit and 1 x not lit, the tubes I am making will be of varying colours this one is just white, they will be interchangeable my tubes will fit any fittings I make so you could have varied colours.

Use as you wish

Great video Graphix, I don't think AmenMoses's script is in GG yet only the pick up and carry. I like to see his script included too, it would add a lot of great new functionality to GG.

Nice lights too, fantastic and very useful. Thanks.

Thanks Tarkus, ah well shooting it is then LOL, here are the Bowling items use as you wish, I have set weight and friction to 200 on the Balls so they act more like Bowling Balls and not beach balls lol, here is a video of how I set it up using the EBE, also done a video of night bowling lol

Been playing for nearly an hour still no Strike!!

I would love to see what you clever scripters/level designers could make with this a scoring system and resetting the pins would be a good start
