thank you guys
@myke: before the lightmapping the light was much better. the lightmapping was just a test. without lightmapping it looks better in this case.

i have the last set of screenshots from level 8 "neckbreaker" wich includes a huge cave system and a big industrial area. also without enemies, old problem now i will work on my level 9, big tunnel system

REALLY GREAT..where did you take all these great assets??

but for custom assets did you renamed textured for every model( since if not lightmapper fault) or simply commet the shader into the fpe file??

thanks
all models i use in my maps are from the forum (free media) and the store. i didn't change any textures and i didn't change anything in the fpe files. i didn't really understand the last part of your question but i hope i can answer it

the last part of the question 8and sorry for my bad english) is referred to the fact that many custom models (not from store and not on the forum) require to not use the lightmap sahder if the models are multitextured but in your case since you use modles from the store and from free gameguru forum his is not necesary..
even the case is from the store??

i decided to complete this game. i will finish all open projects from "island hopper" to have a 9 or 10 level game. i will build the first levels completely new from scratch because in the last weeks / months i learned so much about GG now i don't like my first maps anymore
i will finish the story as good as possible and the next project i'm planning will be kinda the same but focussed on indoor levels, caves and tunnel systems. i already have some ideas.

I have the same problem, when I now look at the older levels from me. I don't like them anymore and then I build them again...

yes, same here. the main reason is that i now have all the models i didn't have when i built it. now it feels like something is missing. i now have all the stuff that i would have needed. and just adding it would be wrong. i need to rebuild it. i'm trying to build a beach scene that's somehow looking like the one in the beginning of "dead island".
many ideas i had are coming back to my mind and i have found ways to build these things much easier. i will keep you up to date

hey, the more time you spend editing your older levels (and not finish your project yet)... than the devs have more time to edit and add new things to GG
and hopefully fix some engine bugs

yes, maybe when i'm finished, game guru is much more powerful i hope i will start with the first map to change it. some of the maps are good enough to keep them but most of the maps will be changed or made new. i will post screenshots of the progress!
i will have to buy a few things from the store to make it look better. i found some beach huts that can really help a lot with the mood / atmosphere. now that i have store points again i will make use of it !

now i purchased all the beach huts by m2design and also a lot of beach cabin packs. i'm well prepared for a beach session. the first map will still be "sun of a beach" but i will totally rebuild it.

well, actually i'm building my first level after i finished the following ones now i got all the models i need, the first time i built level 1 i had just a few models. i just took a look into the next levels and i guess level 2 just needs some new carpets and wall props, furniture and then it would be much better. this is learning by doing. for level 1 the beginning of "dead island" is my biggest inspiration. i'm keeping up and will keep you informed.

btw. thank you very much TGC team for bringing this thread into the newsletter

You quickly became one of the prodigies around here. I'm usually not a big fan of mixing that much media from different sources without retexturing them...but you somehow pulled it off while keeping great visuals. Inspiring stuff!!

thanks!!! i was not sure if the slide might be too colourful for this scenery... but it's technically just what i need for the scene. i was inspired by "dead island". i have a few more shots from the work on progress. now i have put up all the trees and buildings. now i just need all the small parts like glasses and bottles, debries and trash. how do you like?

This looks better than Dead Island! Great stuff. So, is this going to be a zombie game? Also, try not overdo bloom and blur effects. That is actually what ruined Dead Island for me. Everything in that game looked completely washed out.

thanks, very nice i think i'll do a little less blur effects in the final game. this is a LITTLE too much. bloom slider is on "1". actually this will not be a zombie game but maybe i'll make two versions of the game. it was planned to feature terrorists and the first ones have to be killed with a knife somehow.

do you remember my old map "green hell" i posted here some time ago? i made it completely new. i redid the first 2 maps, kept the third one and now i rebuild "green hell". it used to be an airfield with a plane and two villages until you reach the hospital. i kept the idea with reaching the hospital but the rest is all new. now it's just a nature island. 4 fps was my highscore btw.
this maps is based on "weary island", a map that i made for a level competetion and it is shipped with GG.

all new: a beach village i was working on for more than one week that's in my level "green hell". i haven't placed any interior yet. when i got this i will show some ingame screenshots. this one is from the editor. i'm so finished after this session, it's really a lot of stuff this time. in this village you will have to find the key for the hospital.

here are the last and newest screenshots from my ISLAND HOPPER map 1 "sun of a beach". the pictures here are final stage the only thing that's missing is lightmapping but i'll do that after the performance update.
today i show some details from the beach bars, the shops and the stores on the beach. the beach is finished. i added some shady poker places and finished the starting point, a messy hut.
THANK YOU to Lafette (II) who really helped me make this come much more realistic with the supply of a great beach bar! i hope you like what i made of it. and check out the crazy bottles
i hope it's not too much. these screenshots ar only about the beach. when you go upstairs you can enter the resort, i will post pictures from there later.
hope you like it suggestions? critics?

good news from "prison break in", map 10 of "island hopper". the map is finished. i placed 15 hostages and i can free all of them, everything is working. i now need some enemies and then i can think about lightmapping it, then it's finished. i'm happy it got finished and it's working. i have some screenshots.

this level is a prison inside an cove on an island. the terrorists have killed most prisoners and just some hostages are alive. many corpses are spread across the scene and there are many bloody places. most of the level is inside a cave and i have used all kinds of tunnels for this map.

thanks! i've finished my prison level although maybe i have to do something again now that i got perfect assets for this. there is still the final level. i don't know what the final level should look like. my first idea was a city, then it became a mountain and now it is another prison like fortress where i have to kill the final boss. still thinking about this...
