thank you!
does anyone remember "Wreck of the medusa" in the first half of farcry3...? this level was inspired by this scene.
today i will start the 14th and final level of island hopper wich is going to be a favela like city level but this is still a long time. i'm not often on my machine anymore, so many things to do in the real life now :/

very big thank you guys, that's very nice
i finally got my map running again and i just finished my todays work. this is a map called "boomtown", a detailed favela. this should have been the final map but it was extended and separated into two because of low memory. now the final map is "endgame", i will show some screenshots after this one. i had a idea: in the final map you are not mike anymore but you are one of the rebels that came to help mike. he sees mike and his frieds drive away into safety, now he and his friends have to enter the terrorists HQ and kill the boss. this is gonna be like a god level with superior weapons and lots of ammo (and enemies)

Very good!! Just remember that 50% of a jungle scene are good ambient sounds (altough I don't need to tell a musician)

Your work, gorgeous as it is, reminds me a lot of several games! You have your own style, that is sure, but the warm colors remind me of Far Cry 2 spliced with some Boiling Point: Road to Hell!

Your levels look, well feel, very real if you know what I mean.

I like them a lot. It's a shame about the low frame rate, it does spoil the fun a bit

Cheers.

This is simply amazing! So are the novels to promote game sales, or is the game to promote book sales? Or both? Anyway, where can I buy either?

thank you guys, i'm always happy when someone responds to my work. happy.

@jerry: i wrote 3 novels a few years ago. part 1 is the original "hate boat" story, part 2 is "deadly chase" and part 3 is a christmas- action novel that i haven't used for a game yet.
i try to make "island hopper" an unofficial 4th part that bases on the novels and continues the story that is based on the main characters mike and danny.

the game is not finished but it will be free for all when it's finished! and the novels are actually finished but i always have some little detail to change everytime i look at it. you can read it but it's all in german (google translator might help ). it's a typical "die hard" like plot about three young boys / men that are on a cruise ship and suddenly a hostage crisis happens. the guys perform a typical john mcclane to save the day. it's also a little bit humorous. has to be.

Ah! When action movies had weight, character and charme...and protagonists that aren't complete sociopaths. I miss that.
Also nice to hear about a fellow writer on here, altough I don't get around improving my work lately. How do you want to, if at all, publish your work?

this is a very long story that started in 1995. me and a friend decided to write a novel after watching "die hard" and "under siege" and we wanted to have a nerdy german version of this. we began with a few crazy ideas and over the years we built a big trilogy that covers a time of 11 years. in #1 (hate boat) the three boys fight a multi national group of mercenaries that try to capture a luxury cruise ship. the boys are anti- heroes and stay this all the time. in #2 (deadly chase) they try to forget the traumatic things they witnessed 3 years ago and want to make holidays in a forest where they accidentially uncover a secret weapon bunker where some nazis are planning to blow up the whole city. while trying to escape things become worse and in the end it's a deadly chase because (we always have a great twist in the end) the real reason for the bombings is much worse (it is a distraction to free a terrorist from prison).
in #3 (LCÜ3) 8 years have passed and the boys are wrecked and broken with alcohol and drugs and all relationshjips broken etc. when an old enemy tries to kill them. the real reason for this is of course something completely different again and the boys have to get back into their roles.
the final story was finished in 2009 and then i had the idea to make a game from this idea because this is really a big story.

first i started with "hate boat" but "island hopper" is a new idea.

editwolf: i have uploaded an older version of the trilogy free to download.

i must solve this problem that the bad guys don't shoot at me and i can't pick up, use or see my weapons before i can make this mini game for you. what could i do to get this working? a map that doesn't work on my machine does work an your machine. there must be a problem with my GG installation. what should i do? verify files? uninstall and reinstall?

@wolf:
oh this is what makes me feel old yes, i started writing the novel in 1995 and last night i added some little things on the story and i still have some new ideas how to improve the plot after 20+ years

I did try a test for you a while back if I recall that worked fine on mine ....This wouldn't be a bad thing to test anyway no matter who tries your map..
If your map worked perfectly on mine or anyone else's then you know its good ... Then you could consider backing up all your files and reinstalling fresh as a worst case Scenario ......

Can I assume you have tried verifying .... One of the main problems I find when checking maps is a bad model or dodgy script causing problems .....
You could "back up" your scripts folder if you have custom ones ...... then delete your scripts folder in GameGuru ..... When you verify it will put all the originals back ...then test picking up weapons on a new blank map ..... If it works then its probably a script ...If its the same then you can easily copy your scripts back from your backup ... its going to be trial and error ..
