What is the time scale for items being approved to go into the store?

I uploded some items first 3 was rejected as they were not in

an entitys folder. So i fixed all and added some more items

but they still have not been processed.

So just wondering how long for future reference what the time frame

for items being approved will be?

Thanks

It is normally very fast but the team are busy with other tasks at the moment as well as updating our admin system with some bug fixes. We have quite the back log of items to be approved so will get to yours soon.

I will get Chris to have a look at your items and see if we can approve them soon.

Just for the record as well Scene Commander.....Once you have logged in using firefox or Chrome for the first time....Internet explorer lets you log in after that with no problems. The issue seemed to be first time logging

When uploading your own stuff, could you change 'Music' in the Type* to 'Music / Sound Effects'. I'd like to upload some ambient audio which isn't music, if that's ok.

Check out the [FPSC Reloaded FAQ]!

I replied to your PM

@MadLad Designs

Feel free to upload it now and we will approve, it is just the category names wrong so we will alter in the database as a low priority fix

Im sad that all the grasses and other similar items takes up 2 pages and that there is a mere handful of things in the store right now. HOW EVER, that means my money stays in my pockets. More money for me = more better for me Honestly, Id like to see more stuff get approved and listed faster.

I think the veg pack could be recompiled to include all the trees in a pack, the flowers in a pack and the other similar items into a pack. It took me a while to find the grasses in the test level editor and I honestly dont recall any of that info having been provided. I almost feel like im at work, I only get the info YOU want me to have and not the info I need to do what im doing.

The new store is pretty young so we welcome advice on how better to display the information about the items and packs. Any suggestions, send them directly to rick@thegamecreators.com as he maintains a list of to-do items and good ideas will go in the pot.

We are embarrassingly aware that the store resembles a Gardening Catalog right now, but we are set to upload a Horror pack soon, and upload items from the current local asset library (Modern Day), and starting to approve third party art once it reaches a threshold of compatibility with Reloaded. We're also making early plans to keep the flow of TGC commissioned art flowing into the store so you will always have something new to look at each week. Hopefully the next few packs and a site refresh will create a store front that is a little more respectable and in six months we will look back at our once empty categories and laugh (oh how we will laugh)

Uploaded a few items. No problems there.Only issue is zip format doesn't compress as nicely as rar, rar format is pretty well known most people should have a extractor for it.I do understand that compatibility is needed for every one.Just find zip format a bit old and low compression rate a bit meh, there is also a little gain to be made on bandwidth costs.

But other than that, store runs butter smooth.

There are a few reasons why we don't use rar, but the most important is that the server scans the zip files for all sorts of reasons when they are uploaded and downloaded. This cannot be done with our server software if we used rar form

I would like to point a few things out to avoid making artists having to

keep re-upping the same items to the store 'over' and 'over' just to have

them rejected for various reasons that you do not find out until

the uploads are rejected.

1. There should be a Section on the forum stating 'ALL' The requirement

needed for uploads to be accepted. This will stop (a) Putting Artists

in a frame of mind that will give up trying to sell in the store (b)

It will be less work for the people having to check uploads over and

over again.

2. There needs to be a 'ReMove' or 'Delete' Button on the Artists section so items that

have either been rejected and the artist does not wish to re-up that

particular item again or just delet an item they no longer wish to sell.

3. Informing the Artists of Acceptence or Refused by e-mail or Artist account

( I uploaded 10 items to the store all 10 was refused but I only got (1)

e-mail informing me that 1 item was refused nothing about the other Items
). Might be an idea to also have a section to allow mods of the

store to list artist work newly submitted to the store maybe once aweek list? or set work load completed by them then post the Accepted or Refused

information in the section.

Anyways I will give the store another try but if i strike out again I will

simply sell elsewere.

This won't be done on the forums but there is a page on the website coming over the next few days that details everything you need to know, we are aware of this oversight.

I am aware this would be useful admins can already do this the user ability to do so is coming soon.

Not sure why you didn't get those emails, if you scroll to the base of your item edit page you will see a "Item Approval Logs" section that shows every action admins have done on your items in the store. We did have a few issues with the emails sending out the other day which has now been corrected.

Quote: "Anyways I will give the store another try but if i strike out again I will simply sell elsewere."

We only reject items to help improve them for reloaded compatibility, we want you to sell as many as possible and that is why we give feedback. It is not any sign that your media is not good enough for the store only we found small bugs that would help it sell better.

Has that fixed it? I had made a change to the store API system and forgotten to add one line of code (possibly the most important line in the whole thing)

Hope it works or I have a lot of reading to do to track it down.

Hi,

I create music, sound tracks and sound effects for games mainly.

I created my seller account on the store - no problems.

I am getting ready to release a Horror audio/music Pack, but I guess the store isn't ready for pack or audio assets yet, because I see the following on the Upload Store Item page:

"- Uploaded zips must contain only one in-game item per zip, packs will be creatable soon."

Am I correct in this assumption?

If so, do you have an ETA for uploading audio/sound packs?

Thank you very much for your time!

Gary.

BTW, I am creating a video that demos some of the music in this pack... I will upload it this weekend at some point.

Cheers!

No you can upload audio already whatever is on the "type" dropdown is what you can currently upload to the store. The text that says packs will be creatable soon is actually incorrect as all artists can now create packs so I will fix that.

Thank you very much for the ultra-fast reply, Next!

To create the zip file then... I would like the following dir structure:

/audiobank/myaudiopack/file1 file2 file3... etc

Is this possible?

Or do I do:

/audiobank/file1 file2 file3... etc

(seems like there is a risk of overwrite here...)

Once again, many thanks for your time!

No you upload each file separately into the store.

Like this

Then you can go to "Store Items" > "New Model Pack" and group them all into a pack.

Hi Next,

Sorry to be a pain in the ... you know what... but I have another question or two.

I am going to upload 26 pieces of music/sounds as separate zip files as you suggested. Then I will make a pack out of them.

Would it be prudent for me to upload just one and wait for approval, so that I know that I have done things correctly, then upload the rest?

Should I then wait until all are approved before making up my pack?

Thank for your patience!

It would be a good idea yes

You can if you wish, anyone that buys your pack gets any items to add later on automatically so you can make your pack at any time.

Okay this is just getting ridiculous. One model was approved with a texture size of 1024 x 512. A new model got rejected with a texture size of 512 x 1024.

The excuse was textures needs to be the power of 2 256 x 256, 512 x 512 ect

Well the hell is 512 x 1024 or 1024 x 512 power of magic ? Your store admins needs to check their maths, 512 x 1024 or 1024 x 512 is perfectly acceptable in reloaded and ANY other engine.

Now I have to increase the texture to 1024 x 1024 and a whole section of the texture will be completely blank, wasting my time and resources and bandwidth.

I have, cc'ed rick and lee, so the issue can beresolved and that it never happens again.

As far as I am aware, using either lesser width or height, makes no difference, as the texture is still power of 2.Being doing it for over 10 years, not a single engine ever complained about it ?

Reloaded, as far as I am aware doesn't care either ?

I'd better watch myself

I saw your email and we all agree that there will need to be more options, I don't know if you saw Lee's reply.

I will get these extra options added asap now I have heard back from Lee, probably towards the end of today.

Death and tax's, Taxman has infinity HP, only degrades after 30 years, has empties bank splash damage, and capable of respawn, I am afraid a stray polygon, is only going to annoy him more.

The store is looking great and works well. (except for the rejections....grrr)

I'm not sure if this is a feature request, but, here goes.

As I was uploading the models, I was told that I can't add anything to the images to make them my own.

What happens if I want to put a special pack together for a limited time? Can I add some extra artwork to the images then?

I understand that you guys want the store to look uniformed and cohesive, but, a little flare from us all wouldn't hurt. We are artists after all.

Cage us up too much and we will come looking for you with that jagged polygon WOI was talking about!

Cheers

We want to keep the thumbnails clean and tidy as it keeps the design consistent and lets the actual models shine through on the category lists.

We have always planned to allow artists to upload banners for promotional reasons and these will get randomly featured on pages and you can include them on all your item pages if you wish to promote a pack, would this suffice or can you think of more we can do? THis feature isn't added yet but it will be.

Will there be a page or column that would display a list of all the sellers? And clicking on them would display all their work?
