Hello,

i dont get it not really with the Lightmap. I got 3 small rooms, 4 light i have make static, 3 Characters and a lot of furniture and decoration. If i use F1 -F4 after it is finish, my fps goes from 60 to 10 and its freeze from time to time. Its not even possible to walk with the charakter. Its all in third person.

Somebody a idea what i can do? What i do wrong? I also have everything in low..

My System :

AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor
GeForce GTX 970 with 4 GB - Passmark : 8590
16 GB RAM

Yeah - It is good idea to not use the light-mapper atm.

I think the lighting system is still being worked on by preben so perhaps the light mapper may be a final thing once its all sorted .. But I am just guessing although it makes sense to me
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

It's also been posted on the Issues Tracker so I am dealing with it from there, I also suspect the latest PP build solves this

Just wanted to drop in here also. In case others find what I did, and seen Lee is on the boards.
Map made only a few months ago in dx11 april version I believe. Was light mapped prior and when brought over to latest Monster Update I getting spiked glitched results. Not looking for a fix on my map as this was a test map for AI module, just a heads up for others.
*SOLVED below and unrelated to original posters issue.

Have you re-light mapped it since the update? If there have been changers to light mapping (which there have been a lot of) then you're bound to get glitches, and will have to light map again.

@Belidos , awesome work and feedback as always. Just tested then so I could confirm back and the Level re light mapped and is repaired and operational. Also just to note for others holding shift let me select F1-F4 . Thank you to those involved in that option so that it is not bumped like I did that Light mapped this level in the first place. Great effort by all, including yourself Belidos for the fast feedback.

And apologies to @software_bundle for the hijack, I thought it may help others if related. I hope your issue is solved also. Good luck.

So we can not use lightmap at this time? is it a Bug or? How does it look with dynamic light, does it speak against dynamically displaying lights? I have no other choice if I can use the Lightmap?

Yes its freeze, after some time you can change 2 seconds the view, its freezes again. Fps goes from 60 to 1 , 2 , 10 and 40, 50 , 60. I have go out save it, load it and its stays endless by start initialising Physics and after that i starts. But it woud not go better. I have delete the Models i have buying in the Shop and get here in the Community for free also try it again. Same problem, just a littlebit better. But still freeze, go , freeze, go..

No idea..i have my steam edition everytime that it updates the software. I think i have the news version. I have watch in my steam and iam not using Betas. Build : 2018.04.23 - DirectX 11 & PBR. - Or you mean something else? Sry

Hello guys. There was a new update today, the 19th which makes it version 2018-07-19. So give that a go. This is what Lee meant by the latest update.

Yes i see the SciFi Pack DLC update --> In other GameGuru news, we are almost ready to release the next big update, featuring a massive list of additions and changes. The last announcement for the Public Preview build revealed many of these new items, but we have added more to the list since - such as the new ability to append animation data to models and, perhaps even better, add hundreds of dynamic lights into your game scenes.

Sry i have think its was just a Scifi Update and we get the Aliens My mistake

The new PP update is now 2018.06.19 (today) and not 2018.06.18 (yesterday). I am not sure if lightmapping is fixed or not but Lee did say the following which he posted the 19th.

Hi, sorry for delay. time zones and such and I made the reply at 2am. Anyway, I have this level capped on vsync at 60fps, after lightmapped again after Bod's awesome suggestion in 06/18 it still runs at 59/60fps so no drop for me. I added the above issue here as it was light mapped related in case other users had similar issues to yours and mine etc. 18 npc present on level, now uses 1.9 gpu usage on fresh load. I believe it depends a lot on many factors as this was only on a 2gb card and the og poster runs a 4gb.

@software_bundle, I did in-counter something similar a few weeks ago by mistake, and it was because I ran test game too many times and then hit light map by mistake. I am sure you have tried loading fresh and check, or as suggested by others here give the new PP a try with a new light map. All the best and good luck with your project.

I've tried it and it works. the village map had some glitches after the PP update yesterday, but after re-lightmapping the level it is all ok so it works.

Pretty obvious there its not doing anything … Not even initiating the process

Bod, that happens because the lightmapper is blocked by either your anti virus or some other protection software.
I had the same problem with avast antivirus which prevented the lightmapper from running.

Are you Verifying your installation after the new updates and a quick reboot ?
Its recommend doing that every time to ensure the updates sits well .

I'm really impressed that the lightmapper in the public preview is now working. Even though I'd been impressed with the amount of changes happening lately, I'll admit I half expected the lightmapper to stay broken for a long, long time. It bodes really well for the future of the engine that improvements are not only coming quickly, but broken things are also getting fixed up. Gongrats on the work.

For me its not working, not even if i make light in dynamic, one room it works other room it dosnt work. With F1-F4 it also dont work. By the way how i get the last PP build?

@software_bundle, I think I read somewhere that you need to use the shift key with the function keys 1-4. Are you using the shift key?

I now, my problem is not that i can not use F1,F2,F3,F4. The problem is that after i have use it with my smal level with just 3 Buildings, 4 lights (static on) and 3 Charakters from charakter creater. My fps goes from 60 to 10 and its freeze, goes to 32, freeze and goes. Its not even possible to walk with the charakter or work with the level.

I have verify the installation, have take out models that i have buying in the shop or get here for free. I have no Antivirus running. No idea what to do now? I have the Build : 2018.04.23 Edition, but have read some people have other Edition, how i can get a higher edition?

My System :

you know, gameguru x9 build 5/12 has none of these issues! at least not for me

if static lighting is as important to you as it is to me (and it's really important to me) then you might wanna use it, as i would call it gameguru's most stable existing build.

Your right … It was a good build to leave the DX9 users with.
DX11 is still sorting out Teething problems but im really happy with its progress. A lot has been done over the last few months

yep. super unfortunate there's no sourcecode for it available, or i'm sure a savy modder would make it into a formidable contender.
