Now this is a unique project! I like the platformer and low-poly style you have going on. Also, did that penguin just do the "had to do it to em" pose at the end? lol

@PixelF Haha thank you for your feedback. If you have "Healing Power" (collected the red cross item), you can left click, it will punch in the air and full heal himself. Other animations are from being idle.

@Belidos That would be great! I'm using some 2d Decals for now. Going to release a demo soon here to see how people like it.

Don't worry, i will get the Walrus into GameGuru for you, it might take a little while because i'm doing it when i have time, but you will get it, the modelling is done, just need to source some textures, then rig and animate it.

Very fun. Love the visuals, music, and cartoon style. Great use of snow. (I did have trouble getting back out of the house. E kept placing back in the house. I got out twice but not sure how.) Cool to see a GG game use vertical heights to such effect. I really like the going in the house bit. It adds a nice change of tone. Maybe a cozy fireplace in the cabin? Not a fan of platform games but I liked this one. Over all great job.

As for how to improve it. Do you have an audience in mind? Is it just for kids? What market do you aim for? How many levels is it going to have?

Best of luck with your game.

Hi guys,

I just re-opened this thread to show a little progress I had on the first map. I made a speed run video from the second half of the map.

I made a few changes and now we have snowmans

This looks great! Platformers are one of my favourite genres, and pretty much new territory for GG, so I'll definitely be following this one.

@Bored of the Rings @darimc Ty Guys!
@Belidos You're the man!

After beating the Icy Peaks, it's time to reveal "Snowville".

Main idea here is to buy fishes using logs (fish will full heal and grant 5 sec invulnerability to the player), build the cooler machine (will need lots of gems and wood to build all parts), build a house (so you can warp back to snowville later and full heal on bed) and unlock a new area (Iced Under, optional cave place to get more gems, player can still explore outside to keep the journey).

Been working on cave lightning. Now inside caves are dark, and outdoor is normal light / fog.

Small update: Starting to create the sliding course.

I tried to force movewithanimation based on csi to force penguin to crouch stance but no success. Alternative I found was switching from 3rd to 1st person temporarily during the course.

first version of the sliding course

It still needs to be polished, more obstacles, gems etc but thats the idea for now.

I ended the Icy Peaks zone, and now going to work on Thawing Lands zone.

I'll tell you a little secret, when i animated that it wasn't my intention for that to happen, but i had forgotten to adjust the bone weighting and when i played the animation i thought it looked cool, so with a few tweaks to make it looks smoother i left it in, i love fortunate accidents

Hi guys,

Took some time today to make the Icy Peaks Region map (just a quick draw of it):

Second map would be the arrival on Tundra Forests and Crying Woods.

I tried to force the penguin to a custom frame animation to make it slide to remove the 1st person, but running / walk stances stand still. Any dev could help me with that? Otherwise guess Im going for a break for now, until a great idea appears while Im taking shower or doing anything else
