Recently became the owner of the GG. Faced with the fact that you need a height map converter.
As I understand it, it is paid. How can I pay and where can I download?

via email sending-- I've never done it, only ebay-- may have misplaced all
of my passwords!) But ebay is just one button click-done.
You wouldn't consider posting it onto ebay would you!?
I would cover all extra expenses and purchase for $15 U.S. dollars.
I have a couple questions;
Is the import into Blender working yet, and also what's your recommended
software to first create the height map? Free one hopefully?

it's good to see that HM2GG v5.3 / 5.4 still works (well at least for now) in GGMax.

Good converter! But tired of adjusting the heights of the surface to the water level. For the experiment I took a map of the heights of Antarctica. From the 30th attempt I figured out what's what))

The tool is still available as I'm still getting the odd order here and there. I will find time to do a DEMO version based on the last version 5.3 for anyone to try out with limitations. I mainly work with the engines mentioned above now, but looking forward to seeing GG Max progress over the coming weeks/months. I mainly use GG Classic now for my wee boy and making small educational games for him.

ok, silly me, while working on the DEMO version, I found I left a debug line in the v5.3 of HM2GG. This has now been removed. This was stopping the internal BlitzTerrain Smoothing working correctly. Now all seems to work. Will send out v5.4 as I can to purchasers, today is quite busy but will aim today or tomorrow.

DEMO version now released based on the version 5.3.1(fix) You have maximum of 5 runs, so use them well. Some functions have been disabled, you can not do the following:

-choose custom smoothing using my algorithm
-export terrain
-save a custom named .FPM

You can:

-Load any heightmap image (color or B&W)
-Load in sub images that make up TL, TR, BL, BR. This gives you the ability to have up to 4 different e.g. islands/levels.
-Use BT Smoothing. Try something like 80 %
-Create a Horiz/Vert split and set the size of the split.

All FPMs containing terrain data are located under e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Game Guru\Files\mapbank\heightmap_imports. If you have GameGuru Classic on another drive outside the default steam path, open up the .ini file and add your path here custominstallpath=<my custom path ending with \Files>.

I will be using the AM 1.8.2 more and more to produce Perlin Noise maps, this is good stuff. Thanks goes to GraPhix.

Thanks Mike, it does work very well for random heights you just need to tweak the settings a bit , try inverting a variation map before importing the image

So, I wanted to highlight how brilliant GraPhix's Asset Manager v2.2 is. I use it a lot and will be using it an awful lot more.
here is an example pic of the asset importer at work showing an import of an exported HM2GG terrain model in .OBJ format. GGMaX importer / Wicked engine doesn't import OBJ that well, but AM does. Nice one GraPhix :



I highly recommend users to download the trial / register this program. A much needed program to manage all your assets. I've been using the variation map generator in conjunction with HM2GG. If you haven't tried it yet, why not? Go for it. You have nothing to lose. the program has a very professional polish to it.
