I was playing around with what Moose could stand for, i.e. with my military background the assumption is that the letters have a military meaning so I eventually came up with:
Mobile
Ordinance
Offensive
Support
Element
Also played around with game ideas based around the model, how about; the player is an orphan living on a war-torn or post apocalyptic planet (think mad max) who comes across the carcass of an older model military mech (Moose) abandoned in the wreckage of a battlefield. The AI is operational but on low power and your task is to find the components needed to fix it up guided by the AI, so initially you interact with a screen in the mechs chassis and later as you fix him up more you gain a mobile comms/scanner style device so you can forage further afield. Once the mech is mobile again you can then start adding weapons, find ammo etc all of which have to be foraged from surrounding damaged tech, maybe even a downed ship or two.
Once fully operational the player gets to drive Moose some of the time and other times (when foraging inside ships/buildings) have him wait for you, some sort of story line could be developed in which the player/mech combo gets to right some wrong (maybe the "security" forces manning the planet are corrupt or something, and use a combo of strategic planning and good old shoot-em-up game play to gradually defeat bigger and bigger enemies.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!
