Hello all, I've started working on the doors from FPSC. The Sci-Fi doors to start with. So far they work great with GG's default LUA scripts with door.lua and doorauto.lua. Going to be poking around more with getting them working with keycards and remotes. Additionally I'll be bringing in the classic sounds that came with them.

and the WWII models I might have to spice up the normal and spec maps a bit:

Surely they don't need anything different to work with the keycard scripts and remote scripts? I was under the impression that those script worked on any door.

Belidos, thanks for letting me know. I haven't checked out all the stock scripts in GG yet. One of the biggest issues im facing with doors, windows and such is getting them all to float at the right height so when I bring in segments they are placed exactly in place when snapping. I've been wondering if i should hold off on segements until the easy building tool comes out OR create a ZIP file that is strictly a BETA of all the segments so I could get user feed back on how to improve them. Also this pack of segments would be for only testing and not used for anyones finished game till we get everything right. I think i might do that.

Segements and doors in GG , when imported in actually float partly in the terrain. So I have to pretty much make up an average baseline that ALL segments would use.

I'm pretty sure if they work with a normal door script, that they should work with any of the other variations, such as the key cards etc.

As to the segments placing in the ground, that shouldn't be too difficult to fix, it sound like the origin point for the model is centre of mass instead of 0,0,0. You should be able to import them into a modelling program and reset the origin to 0,0,0.

Since there is over 400 segments , I'm going to just adjust their positioning in FPE. Perhaps even write a Batch file to take care of that rather than going through each manually in modeling. No way to raise or lower terrain GG eh? lol

EDIT: then again in reality the segments all reference but only a few X models... hmm

Experiencing a lot of strange issues with the Fantasy Characters from the cartoon pack. They sometimes work fine and other times appear floating off the ground and invisible in the editor. I think someone might have to completely re-rig them...

Just picked up some of these. Nice work, Teabone!

I do notice that from the Sci-fi entities, the big container and the generator don't seem to work. Whenever you click them you get no visual entity in the editing window. Just lettin' ya know, just in case you're not aware.

Your welcome! I'll be returning to this task this week to get more content out and fix some of the objects that have missing textures (as you have mentioned). Quite a lot of objects also need material indexes set properly and collision shapes fixed. So for the first couple days this week I will mainly be doing tweaks and fixes. Mid week and onward I hope to start rolling out more content.

EDIT:

Here are a few updates I was able to slip in tonight:

- 2 Sounds added to "robotic" Character Sounds. use in FPE: soundset = robotic
- Removed some aiappear and aidestroy FPI references from Sci-Fi Collection
- Freight Container fixed from Sci-Fi Collection (had missing texture)
- Generator fixed from Sci-Fi Collection (had missing texture)
- Redundant DBO files removed from all Collections
- Redundant PNG files removed from Gore Collection
- PNG texture references changed to DDS from Gore Collection
- TGA texture references changed to DDS from Gore Collection
- Removed all aiappear and aidestroy FPI references from Gore Collection
- Redundant PNG files removed from Post Apocalyptic Collection
- Removed most aiappear and aidestroy FPI references from Buildings in Modern Collection

Next update will include the Skeletons from the WWII pack

Unfortunately, GG currently doesn't support material indexing for characters so they may bleed when you injury them rather than using the old wood impact effect in FPSC. I'll also be replacing the sounds with completely new ones,.

@Teabone-I didn't realise till recently that there is an 'offsety=" option in the FPE and also "raisefactor=". you could try using those in the FPE's e.g. offsety=50.

Absolutely amazing job Teabone. These will help me out so much! Although I did notice that a bunch of assets in the Modern Day>Props are oddly mislabeled. It's like they're all labeled as the next one over. No big deal really, just an oddity in your otherwise phenomenal work.

This usually happens when you have a missing or mislabelled FPE file for an entity, when you see the thumbnails messed up look backwards through the list until they aren't messed up, it's at that point that there is a missing FPE, take note of the last one that is right and the first one that is wrong, then go to the entitybank folder where they are and take a look at the files in between them, you will probably find one or more entities without an FPE file, or an fpe file that is named wrong.

For some reason the entitybank doesn't match the thumbs to the fpe files, it seems to show all the thumbnails alphabetically, then reference the fpe's alphabetically, regardless of if the name matches, and if an fpe is missing or labelled wrong it will mix them up.

Sometimes, it's also just that they don't have a thumbnail.

Turns out that it was the ornate wall asset. It looked like all the files were present and seemed like the .fpe was O.K., but I'm admittedly new to this whole process. I just removed that asset (wasn't one that I saw myself desperately needing anyway) and everything lined back up again just fine.

Hey everyone, I've been focusing mostly on quick fixes, as I've been overwhelmed with work. Here's a list of the most recent fixes:

Latest Updates (7/01/2016)

- Fixed a few FPI references changed to LUA in Modern Day Collection
- TGA texture references changed to DDS from Modern Day Collection
- dirtybucket.bin file removed from Modern Day Collection
- Rusty Bike in War Torn folder fixed in Modern Day Collection

Previous Updates (6/25/2016)

- Added missing media = freightcontainer.x Added to Sci-Fi Collection
- Added missing media = generator.x Added to Sci-Fi Collection
- Fixed a few FPI references changed to LUA to Sci-Fi Collection

If you are still experiencing issues with mismatching thumbnails, let me know.

Pack 51 Is not one of the free ones, he could convert it if he owned it, but only for his own personal use, he couldn't pass it on. Permission has only been given to convert the ones uploaded to the free FPSC Guthub page (https://github.com/LeeBamberTGC/FPS-Creator-Classic), the others either haven't had permission granted for free release by the authors, or are being held back to be converted and ether given free or sold by TGC.

From the last but one live stream, Lee told us he had been converting FPSC assets to GameGuru, including over 120 or so characters. he did a good 20 minutes on it.

He's even added the viral outbreak zombies

I was under the assumption that apart from the characters that all that media is in fact the same media Teebone has converted only Lee has bundled it with the core, looking through the list the categories are the same, personally speaking I'd be happy with just the characters I mean what a treat, the rest is gravy, GG is going to outshine all the competition when it comes to default media

I've worked on quite a number of the characters you will see i the next update/DLC. I'm not the best at fixing up character issues however; but I've sent over to Lee the best I could do with the time I have. Quite a number of the static objects I've been converting, you may seen in GG's core or future DLC. They look great in GG.

Been so busy lately, I haven't been able to send Lee anything in quite sometime. Hopefully with this long weekend I can make some more contributions. Additionally hope I can find sometime to pump out some free assets to the collections here.

Hi gamerpro980, while pirating is something we don't condone in the community; I should mention that the assets are totally worth buying even if you already own them. Reason being is Lee will be completely re-writing the scripts in LUA. Additionally new texture maps maybe added to support the GG shaders. Something to consider.

I only just noticed that list now, looking at the video. I know I have helped with getting most of the characters in (no scripting). Curious to see what the objects are, if they are from the stockpile I've been working on. Be great to know as I've committed to improving them.

What they all said. What is going through a person's head who steals software and then goes to a site for a newer software created by the same people and admits to this? Was gamerpro980 expecting to be accepted for that admission? And having admitted to it, does he or she really deserve to be here? So many people here who have paid their dues, bought the software, some who went beyond and got expansions and packs and models from other users, and then others who have done some, if not all, of that and then choose to also GIVE so much free content to the community. It seems very much like rewarding a thief for stealing.

I've heard the turn the other cheek speech, but come on. lol

This is the second person I've seen this month admit to having cracked versions of TGC software/content.

The last got banned.

But, really what are these people thinking? admitting to theft and then trying to get help with the product they stole on the official forum for the developers of the product. It defies logic.

Maybe i'm just too much of a nice guy for this world, I mean I recently used a free script from here in one of my games, and when the author put a 2.0 version in the store I straight away purchased it, not because I wanted the new version, the old one is perfectly fine for what I want and i'll probably not use the new one, but because buying the new version was my way of showing appreciation for the version I already had which was free.

Not the smartest thing to post in the official forums of the software that you pirated.

Was this comment regarding to the original FPSC? Or to GG. Our records are showing that you don't currently have a registered copy of GameGuru.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and give you 24 hours to verify your account through Steam. If you fail to that within the given time, I will ban your account and any other accounts that you create. (if you don't currently own a legitimate copy of GameGuru this would be the perfect time to go and buy it. It's currently on sale! At a snip over £8, you can't really go wrong! )

Cheers

Jay.

Hes a troll, I'v seen many of them over the years do exactly this, they stir up a community saying "i cracked your software" and feed off the negative vibe, I actually pity them, narcissism isn't nice to live with!

if you like something that a software developer does, or script writer, modeler, etc; the best thing you can do is support them, so that's awesome.
I make some stuff to give back to the community (though nothing even remotely within the same realm as some of the generous creative people on here.) and buy models and scripts when I can. This is great software and the amount of effort that continues to go into the product when many developers have already pocketed money and run for the hills is truly awesome.

That is a cool way to handle it, though, I guess. "It's cheap, get it on sale now before we ban you, pirate." lol

OK, well, that's another pirate gone.

TGC and the moderators have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to piracy.

If you do see anything that you might deem as suspicious, please don't immediately jump on that user and start proclaiming, "Pirate! Look everyone, I found a pirate!".

A lot of times, we do actually find that there has been an error or an honest mistake. So, please, if you do see anything, feel free to message me or one of the other moderators and let us look into it further.

Cheers

Jay.

Nice one Jay! Glad to see him/her banned, for a small amount of money they could have a legitimate copy of the software.
