How about, a double bed, a single bed, a flat screen TV, night lamps, dressing table, nest of tables LOL these are all things I want (being a bit selfish here)

just look around you at your own home, this might give you a bit of inspiration, we look at everyday things all the time and take no notice of them we just expect them to be there

I was rummaging around on some old USB sticks last night to see what i had saved, and i came across the original blend file for my drop ship, so started working on the dodgy ngons and geometry to tidy it up, ended up getting carried away and redesigning the ship, will be working on the textures over the next few days, and hopefully put the new attack ship in the store soon.

Then, don't use the cloth sim and sculpt the cloth. Take your low poly model, you high poly and bake the high to the low to get your cloth normals.

All basic stuff really! haha.

Cool looking models mate. I am really impressed as to how far you have come in such a short space of time. Being able to create your own models is just so, liberating! No longer being limited to what is in your folders is a great feeling.

Good job mate.

Cheers

Jay.

Due to a high number of messages on steam and youtube asking "where can I get your grid snapping roads", I've decided to work on a variant for the store, these will be slightly different to the ones i'm using in The Island, mainly because I want as many original models as possible in my game to lessen the ammunition for the automatic "asset flip" yelling crowd, and just because it's nice to have your own stuff in your own game

These new grid snapping roads are larger (700x700) you can fit an average sized vehicle comfortable in each lane with passing space, there is a larger, more proportional sized pavement, consisting of both paving slabs, and tarmac, whereas my originals were a lot narrower, with less pavement.

They are 100% grid snappable on the GameGuru grid system.

Thanks Tarkus. I'll let you know.

I took a mini break from texturing the roads, halfway through doing the corner, getting those textures to go round curves is a nightmare, decided to do something easy to clear my mind before I get back to it, these (and a lot more) will also be included in the road pack.

Thanks PP, i'm really enjoying making these, I've been brushing up on my texturing and learning how to "bend" textures, it's quite simple once you know how, but can be a little fiddly as you have to manually adjust each section of the UV just right.

So far I have for my street pack:

Roads:
Straight (with single yellow lines), Straight with crossing (with single yellow lines), straight with lay-by (with single yellow lines), Crossroads (with single yellow lines), T-Junction (with single yellow lines), and curved corner (with single yellow lines).
Information Signs:
Ahead Only, Keep Left, Keep Right, No Entry, No Left Turn, No Parking, No Pedestrians, No Right Turn, No Stopping, No U-Turn, No Vehicles, Pass Either Side, Roundabout, Stop, Turn Left, Turn Left Ahead, Turn Right, Turn Right Ahead.
Speed Limit Signs:
5mph, 10mph, 25mph 20mph, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph, 60mph, and National Speed Limit.
Warning Signs:
Cattle, Children, Crossroads, Danger, Give Way, Level Crossing, Pedestrian Crossing, Pedestrians, Road Works, Roundabout, Slippery Road, T-Junction, Traffic Lights, and Wild Animals

I have planned:

Roads:
Mini Roundabout, Straight (with double yellow lines), Straight with crossing (with double yellow lines), straight with lay-by (with double yellow lines), Crossroads (with double yellow lines), T-Junction (with single double lines), curved corner (with double yellow lines), Straight (with no yellow lines), Straight with crossing (with no yellow lines), straight with lay-by (with no yellow lines), Crossroads (with no yellow lines), T-Junction (with no yellow lines), and curved corner (with no yellow lines).
Signs:
Street Lights (illuminated), Traffic Lights (animated and illuminated), Crossing Lights (animated and illuminated), and Traffic Island Bollard (illuminated)

Primary Desktop:
i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Secondary Desktop:
i5 4760k, NV960 2GB, 16GB 2333mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Thanks mate, but don't hold back your models because someone else is making the same, there's no harm in having multiple models available, some people prefer different styles, it's good to have more choice

Another quick model today and i'm taking a break, an animated/illuminated crossing light (cycles between the two images below aprox once per second):

19 road pieces textured and ready for upload to the store. All the sign models and base textures are done, I just need to convert them to dds and create N and S maps, will do that tomorrow, and hopefully upload everything to the store on the weekend. With luck it should be available middle of next week.

Well, everything's been packaged up and uploaded, barring any issues it should be available within the next few days.

There are two collections, and two individual items:

Modular Road Kit
This collection contains 19 modular road entities sharing 7 models that use the 100x100 grid snapping system (accessed by pressing B twice).

Now that is done, it's on to the next project, the first model of which you can find free in my new Belidos' Freebies thread:

I am working on a series of "Tudor" style fantasy/medieval building models and scenery items, the picture below shows my progress so far on the first of these buildings:

Edit: I've finished the first three of my new buildings, three variations of a Tudor/fantasy style inn/lodging house:

Primary Desktop:
i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Secondary Desktop:
i5 4760k, NV960 2GB, 16GB 2333mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Laptop:

Three houses:

ok make that six houses, these three are the same style as above, but flipped so that the annexes are on the right instead of the left:

Oh what the hell, while i'm at it, the same three styles with annexes on both sides:

Of course it would be just wrong if I left out a version without annexes:

That's a total of 15 buildings so far, 16 if you include the free cabin, and I have a lot more planned.

i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Awesome, thanks mate.

A little odd that because when I saw you said you had bought it I went and checked because I hadn't set them to available yet, and yup the dashboard told me they were still set as unavailable, I've set them to available now anyway, so all's good, but i'll have to let Jason know that the unavailable setting isn't working.

Edit: Ah I see what's happened, it's the full collection pack you bought, ah ok yeah that was up and live, so no bugs, phew!

If you have already downloaded the signs, just do a quick check that they're working, I got a bit confused when uploading and some of them point to .png files instead of _D.dds files, if you get any black models you can either delete the model and redownload, or edit it's fpe and change .png to _D.dds

Thanks guys, added a hay loft and tidied up the mesh a little, next step will be horse stalls in the wings, and then subdivide and "make crooked" most of the beams.

So far I've managed to get all the UV's nice and neat on a 2048x2048 texture, with space to spare, and at a fairly good quality texture, although I still have a couple more textures to add in (the underside of the roof, and the hay loft boards), but I have almost 1/4 of a 2048x2048 sheet to use for them.

Thanks BOTR.

Almost finished the stable now, just needs a few minor tweaks and adjustments I think.

Quite pleased with this one to be honest, I've managed to keep the mesh below 2500 poly's, and the texture at 2048x2048
