Currently working on a character myself. have the biped mesh created and used the FPSC 3ds max .bip file.
used mender beta 5 and loaded it in the animer trial version and all looks good so far.
Just waiting on the approval process to complete for the full version of animer so I can see if it works in reloaded

MrMidi

When you are trying to embed Youtube videos, all you need to add is the YouTube code at the end of the link.

So, it would look like this,

[ youtube ] D2PSVXsNHa8 [ /youtube ] <-- do this without the spaces and you get the below.

Cheers

you don't need to even do that ....

Where you type this message along the top with "Image".. "Link".. "Code".. etc you have "Video" which opens up "you tube" "Vimeo" and "MP4"

Just click ..add the url...click again and done

2 more characters working in reloaded.

I am using the ai_neatural at the moment but none the less they are in.

The ATXT in the back has no animation yet.

Hopefully I got the video link working this time.

@mrmidi:

Looks good; although you do realize that you can in no way, shape or form distribute any of the Star Wars characters? Even fan-art would need permission from Lucas Arts (now Disney), to redistribute. Just some friendly advice. They do look good in ReLoaded though.

@KiethC
Absolutly I have no intention of distributing any character or object tied to any other film, game or such.
It's just fun to put things like those in my own creations for my own enjoyment on my on machine at home.

Other creations that are my

Heh! this thread has turned into a little character showcase in it's own right, great to see all this being done by others. Nice work and very inspiring to myself and others.

For those that do use 3ds Max, there is a maxscript that can convert FBX Boned character to a biped rigged character.

"Bippy is a tool for converting FBX bone data into a 3ds Max Biped and offers serveral tools to help optimize this conversion pipline.
Its perfect for motion capture data when the client needs the data in a biped format."

"Version Requirement:
3ds Max 2008 +"

I have used it and it does work. The final Bibed result might need some rotation tweeks but it works.
This of course would only apply to a character you have created that has an FBX Bone rig.
If you are creating a character from scratch then you can start with a biped rig and this is not needed.
As I said above this is only for 3ds Max

Link to maxscript and a tutorial ---> http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/bippy

What rig are you guys using to rig your meshes too? I tried importing the characters that come with reloaded into various software but the joints are all messed up. The right elbow bends backwards etc.

I think its worth pointing out that the blender-unity character process is relatively simple, which is pretty badly indicting for FPSCR considering Unity is free.

Unity is by no means free if you wish to actually sell a game!

I don't believe thats true actually. I'm pretty sure you can use Unity commercially as long as your game doesn't make more than 100k dollars in profit. But if you were making that much money the price of the pro license would cease to be an issue.

My character (made in Makehuman) works fine until he gets killed and falls at which point his feet remain stuck to the ground and his legs stretch out like rubber bands as he flies back. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm attaching the .X file. I'm quite sure that's where the problem lies.

Vertices are assigned to 'Bip01_R_Toe0Nub' and to 'Bip01_L_Toe0Nub'.
I'll try to fix it tomorrow.
Let you know.
