First update in a while, I've been busy learning Maya and working on improving my texturing.

I have too many models on the go at the moment, I need to get them finished and start working on my game.

I carried on working on the pirate ship the hull just didn't look right so scraped that one and made another.

[WIP] Pirate Ship, eventually the sails will blow in the wind and the cannon doors will open and close.

Next up is a cave and a treasure chest. More detail about what I'm using the cave for soon.

Medieval table and fountain. The table was more of a test to see if I could get a model in to the store.

The shed is being made for the store as part of a zombie pack I'm making. I know it looks very clean at the moment but texture will do all the hard work. This model will be animated, the door will open / close and a wind blowing the door effect will be added as well.

Thanks Harry.

I've added a bit more to the ship and started to see how the textures are going look.

Basic texture for the moment, once the uv's are laid out, I'll add a lot more detail.

I Couldn't wait so I had to import it in to Reloaded just see how it looks.

As you can see it still needs work !

I've started on a new modular castle, not sure about the texture though, looks a bit flat.

I might turn this one in to a pack.

In scene.

Your pub is great SB, the inside of the house isn't good yet.

I've added some modular parts to the houses to make them all look different (more to come yet), I've also been playing with illumination maps.

Hi SB, I've been busy with life, work and other projects.

I've taken a bit of a break from my game assets and started to make a pack for the store. I've also decided to shake things up a bit and try something different, more modern.

I started making a bin just to kick start some ideas.

I then thought about benches, signs, walls to match the graffiti bin as a pack. This for some unknown reason got me thinking about train subways from this I got the idea of doing a London underground pack, I've already thought of 3 game idea where I could use this myself

Anyway here's a quick blockout, would this be something people would be interested in? I'm thinking abandoned tube tunnels as well.

The bin looks cool mate. Simple, yet effective. I do feel as though the texture could be a little high res. What resolution is the texture? Also, I have been a graffiti artist in my time and for personally, I wouldn't waste my paint on the corners of the bin. I would make sure that my art is clearly visible on the larger surfaces. I would personally move the 'artwork' away from the top corners. However, this is just gentle crits mate. I do like your work!

The subway...........WOW. That's a win in my book! Great work! I would love to have something like this in a game!

Cheers

Jay.

I've got the first part textured so I thought it rude not to test it in Reloaded.

Thanks guys, looks like I'm on the right track (Sorry)

I know what you mean SB, there is great work going on all over these forums at the moment.

Today's effort, I thought I would make a few props to get a feel how the overall level will look. I'm still unsure what era this underground is from. As the first underground station is well over a 100 years old, I think if I did 2 props set old & new it change the feel instantly with just swapping the props.

I may add a zombie pack add-on as well, with blood splats, virus posters etc..

(Illuminated signs in modeling package (Old posters would not be Illuminated))

congrats on your promotion. it can take a while to find your feet, juggle social and find time to create. but i think you can now get behind the model wheel and spin out some stuff. i am ok been maintaining my new position ( near 2 years ) and courses and degrees and a very demanding girlfriend and long hours etc. so i been a bit slack on creative elements in life, but i was also model fatigued, needed a break from it all. and waiting for extras on reloaded, i am also being slack at trying to learn lua. i have no time tbh but something has to happen i have hundreds of characters not doing anything besides that not too bad

I don't actually come from Preston, it's just where I reside currently. I am actually from Macclesfield, Cheshire. I moved to Preston to be with my (now) wife.

Marsh Lane is about 6 minutes from my house. It's a shame, we could have gone for a beer and chatted about Reloaded and modelling!

E30Legend,

Congrats on the promotion mate! All good things! It will take a while to readjust your schedule. Something like that will always take its toll mentally.

Good to see you back on the forums though!

I have been more than lackadaisical with my modelling! I haven't made anything recently. I have been busy doing some pro bono design work for a client, trying to help them get off the ground.

However, the modelling buzz is itching and I need to create a nice group of polygons to scratch it with!

Cheers

Jay.

I have some new models on the way soon. I've stopped on the underground for the moment, waiting for better indoor lighting and to concentrate on my original game idea.

SB - The Guild pub sounds like something you should have in your game !

I had a bit of time over the weekend and finished the first part of a castle model I started a few months back.

I used the new model importer in v9 which works a treat to get the models in to reloaded.

First try looks a little flat.

After a bit of playing around I got the look I was after.

I've got a lot more to add to this castle yet, you will also be able go inside once part 2 is done.

Awesome stuff! I love the castle. Did you build it as a kit? Or a single model in engine? Would be create to make it a modular kit. Excellent stuff Looks like oblivion/skyrim open world.

Thanks Teamhalo.

It's a modular kit but still needs some work yet to make it game ready. I'm taking a lot of my inspiration from Skyrim and Game of Thrones at the moment.
