Looks good, and nice to see that you have made the post crooked/slanted instead of straight post. so a lot of thought has gone into it.

Would be nice to see another jetty made, as at the end of the T jetty in picture there are no post on the end so its floating and cand be used to slot in to a river bank, so if you creat another one like it and add 2 more post then it can be used as a platform jetty so. if that makes sense.

And could you make some of these jetty's for fishing

Thanks for the comments guys !

Hi spudnick, thanks for the ideas, I not sure yet if it will be part of a river bank or a dock in a port.

I've been playing with texturing a bit more today, I can still see seams but it's better.

Also started to play with diffuse, specular, normal maps, not sure it's working correctly yet !

Gallows [WIP]

This model will have a working trapdoor and a handle to operate it. I'm not happy with the noose yet, any ideas on how to make convincing rope?

Nice....

A rope is indeeed a little bit of fiddling.

On youtube there are some tutorials of making a rope. for blender or 3ds max.

I don't know what you use , but there are some tutorials out there.

I think it is just to perfect in shape,a bit of rope stiking out of the top of the not & maybe not such a perfect nose shape.Just my thoughts ,nice model by the way.

Yep, a little bit of rope sticking out of the knot and make it a little more teardrop shaped instead of round. Unless its a very stiff, new rope, gravity will make it hang lopsided and the braiding of the rope tends to twist the loop around a little too. Not quite as easy as it sounds though, I know, as I'm having a hard time getting my own ropes and chains to look right. Other than that it looks very good.

Many thanks Scene Commander.

I've been 3d Modeling nearly 3 months now but I've been doing 2D CAD drawings for many years, this has helped me to get to grips with the 3d side of things.

I will post some updates later. I'm going to add more detail and pieces to the castle.

I've also started again with my character as it wasn't right.

The rock needs a bit of work as it has too many polys at the moment, easily fixed though. I've also just noticed a seam showing as well.

Thanks TattieBoJangle

I'm still learning at the moment, and to be honest, I'm not sure if my models are up to scratch or good enough to be released as packs.

All the models I've built above will eventually be used in a game idea I have once Reloaded is at the stage to do this. I've built them really to learn modeling, level design and well, everything that goes in to making a game.

If members would like me to make some packs I would have a go, as it's all good experience.

Started with my character again, this time I have thought more about the geometry so the character can move correctly when animated.

the correct term is Topology

and now i would like to pint you to

Thanks for the information J0linar, no offence taken ! Any advice is gratefully received.

I spent most of last night reading Polycount Wiki, great information thanks.

Polycount Wiki wrote: "Mastering good mesh flow takes time to learn. Just like any other discipline, learning about good topology usually requires making the mistakes yourself in order to experience first-hand what the results are, so you understand how important it is to avoid them next time. Reading the quote above I'm still going to carry on with my character so I can see what works and what doesn't, then I can get a good understanding what not to do next time.
