well done with that, awesome job. I was working on scramble a while back but on back burner at moment. nothing like 2d games sometimes, kids get bored with 3d very quickly these days.

@3com - thanks, yes trying to do something quick with the SHMUP creator, then I will dip a toe properly into Max. I have used Max a little bit and so far so good, a few niggles but otherwise it is coming on well.

@MadLad Designs - It is a doddle to use, once you get a handle on how the UI works and everything is well laid out. The camera options when editing a level are amazing. And it really is no code.

Just purchased it. I'm thinking you can combine genres into one game.... Perhaps start off in first person (GG) and get to your spaceship. then switch over to a SHMUP space blaster as you fight your way out!

That looks like a pretty cool engine. Probably a lot easier to make 2D games in that, than in Game Guru

I attempted this in less then 5 minutes in GG with Lua:


Since Game Guru doesn't support pixel placement, movement nor detection, its not easy getting solid collisions working or having it look smooth. Since its running on percentage to the screen. So its really not ideal for 2D. That engine your using looks awesome

Its always interesting seeing how people use things from FPSC and Game Guru to make games in other engines. Even online motion comic strips.

If anyone would like to test Level 1 so far, the link is below.

Controls on XBOX ONE Controller are:

A = Fire
Right Stick Rotates ship
Left Stick Moves the ship

Once you get to the huge purple plasma ball at the end of the level. That is as far as I have got, not linked it all up yet for destruction.

You have lots of lives so getting the HP bottles is not essential.
