Why in game-guru, the characters, like zombies CAN'T FOLLOW the player UPSTAIRS ?
i added a zopmbie a basic level with a stair and he can't go to a upper level...chassing me...
how is that possible?

The WAYPOINTS ARE NOT WORKING !!!

The stock zombie AI, as far as I am aware, is very rudimentary. It will only home in towards the player upon detection and has nothing in terms of "spatial awareness", as in navigating obstacles.

Unless you rewrite it from scratch, its not going to follow you up any obstacles what so ever.

but do we have any character in GG who can follow the player on different levels of a building ? following him using the stairs??

Yes most can but you need to use Floor zones and attach them using a waypoint.
It was never an ideal solution though.

The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

BUT like i explained it's a MASSIVE BUG with FLOOR ZONES, WAYPOINTS in the gg version 2021.06.10

waypoint do not work, floor zones freezes and are impossible to select theem !!!

well i just made that map in the latest version not 20 mins ago and did not have any probs with the waypoint or floorzone. Its just a rubbish way of doing it Something that was never really a solution.
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

do you think those tools can be improved for GG ?
i need an enemy who can climb ladders, use stairs... !
that's something BASIC , why GG is not capable of achieving this in 2021 ?

i added the waypoints & floor zone, 99% of the time the zombie or characters just CAN'T follow me upstair...
and 99% of time he stay STUCK by the walls !
for the test i just use the mid warehouse ramp model, and it's NOT working at all !

@imothep85 Zombies has it limitations, but you can still make a cool game.

I hope the devs are working to improve AI on ggmax, and classic as well, to something like we have in 7 days to die zombies (They jump blocks, persue the player wherever you go, hard to bug).

What a lot of people don't understand is that there are to sides to AI, there is the actual AI code which is built into the engine and there is the AI control scripts. The AI code in GG is actually pretty good, t's not perfect, but it's pretty good. However the scripts that are supplied is pretty basic and doesn't do everything that GG could potentially do.

So really TGC doesn't need to do anything to AI, the scripts are just examples to get you started, it's up to you to source or create better AI control scripts that take advantage of what is actually there behind the scenes.

Probably because the models you are using aren't set up for AI to walk on them. There's a couple of FPE entries needed for them to allow NPC's to navigate properly on them.

Everyone thinks that future AI is going to rule the world and become a conscious creature! But AI is never smarter than the creator (until maybe they erect the fully accessible quantum computing ai)?... AI can't see or react to anything that the creator hasn't showed it how to see or react to. And there's infinite scenarios not everyone can imagine into their AI. So they do basic AI for as many basic scenarios as they choose.

Like others have mentioned, it's possible to get nearly anything ((move object around at least)) scripted in GG's API- with a lot of headache and infinite perseverance. Waiting for someone else to do it for you might be a pretty long wait. Just wait and see- or hire a pro scripter.

As mentioned above, there is no solution out of the box. You will need to do quite a bit of scripting to make this work as you intend.

Yes agree, if wanting special outcomes then every aspect needs to be assessed , and as some have mentioned not out of the box. Some additional options such as zones and scripts are provided of course, some can be found here, as one needs to remember 'has this been asked before'.
I covered this topic many years ago, I do not suggest using ebe stairs, check your angles.
*didn't see you're trying to import a full model for this, 3com has demonstrated below, though you may need to check scaling , width distance on navigation options, angles important. If this is your plan then use zones to force ai, or assess the model, or select better options as this is custom. Good luck.
