Hi guys,

is the current version of GG Max possible to create standalone games yet? I'd like to see / play any standalone version made with that.

No. GameGuru MAX has not even been released yet. It's still in beta and will be for some time yet. As a result, GameGuru MAX does not even have a lot of it's planned features implemented yet.

I was wondering if GG Max betas had standalone runtests. I really wanted to check that because Im not sure how my second game (Fat Birds Don't Fly) will match that and I need GG because of its practicality to work solo.

GGmax might help with your game since it will copy all the files your level use within the entitybank folder, of course when this feature is fully implemented.
Also convert your meshes to be compatible with GGMax, although it needs some work yet.
Anyway, most likely you will have a lot of work to do if you want to make a profit from all the GGMax goodies.
When standalone comes most likely it will be different from than GG standalone system.

Again, the software is in beta and missing many core features. One of those features is to produce a stand-alone game. That will probably be one of the last things they add in because, frankly, there's no sense in producing a stand-alone game with a beta that is, for all intents-and-purposes, more like an alpha at this point.

Having said that, the betas are available to those who have pre-paid for MAX. You can test what's there and see how things go in the editor's viewport. But, again, MAX, at its current stage, is extremely limited.

Maybe TGC will release some GGmax trial version, it might be a good move, though.

The most you can really do is test things in the current build.
With the UI overhauled we really do not know what to expect in the next build.

In the current build you can ...

Set the skies, lighting, fog. Sun Rotation, Shadows etc
use the Character Creator
Use the structure editor
You have basic AI
run all the GG scripts
Basic VR
and finally run the level.

You cannot do a great deal with Terrain at the moment.
You cannot create a Standalone at this time.
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

However, most of this is not fully implemented or buggy at the moment. Importing assets, for example, can be hit-or-miss, depending on format and a few other factors. The Character Creator is extremely limited at the moment as, like the rest, it's not completed. Changing some properties for imported assets, particularly materials, can cause you to end up with models that have no materials applied or changes aren't saved.

MAX is in development ... and barely that (speaking of the last beta release). It's there to test for bugs, to have a bit of fun with, and to see MAX's future potential. But it is not yet anywhere near what it needs to be to create a game with it.
