To get anything done in RPG-Maker however you have to use their event visual scripter. Which is where you assign your states/toggles, variables and strings/messages. Its just a visual tree rather than a code screen.
When using RPG-Maker I always felt forced to get deeper into code with RGSS or Java, as I just didn't like how limited those engines were out of the box. Especially the battle systems. Ironically most people that use RPG-Maker very quickly start asking for features it doesn't come with and end up downloading other people's plugin-scripts to get their games to break some limitations.
I think no matter what engine you use, you'll always end up having to get down and dirty into code at some point or acquiring code from community members.
Though to conclude this discussion on my behalf, you cannot add leader-boards or score boards to the Multiplayer. Id recommend that you post it as a request on the Github for either Classic or Max.
