I can tell you, i see a very bright future for GG max, i imported my obj file from 3DCOAT mre than 200.000 polys, it was immediately loaded, with the texture !!
I can't compare THIS to game-guru, because it's a complete new engine !
The model was loaded without any problem in less than a sec, i got one crash but it's just an alpha 5.9... so it's normal the texture is somekind...of recognized but is not really the material i created in 3dcoat !
My PBR material is an old bronze and in gg max it's a weird texture but recognized !

my question is WHICH export i have to use from 3d coat to GG MAX ??

I'm really really exited about game-guru max, here we are doing heavy tests with 2k and 4k import tests with very heavy meshes !
Comme on Lee i know you can make better clouds for the sky with your team () !!!

If you have an export preset in 3Dcoat for Unreal Engine then use that, the native texture set for Wicked is exactly the same (Albedo, Surface, Normal), you can also use any of the existing textures sets for GG; DNS (Difuse, Normal, Specular), or PBR (Color, Metalness [renamed metallic], Gloss [actually roughness renamed to gloss]), and Normal).

Primary Desktop:

I'm almost there !
What is the surface texture option ?? when i import my obj in gg max, i dotn have a texture from 3dcoat named surface

A surface texture is a texture that contains AO, Metallic, and Roughness all in one, the AO is in the Red channel, the Metallic is in the Green channel, and the Roughness is in the Blue channel.

Btw, it will never be exactly the same as it is in 3DCoat, the same as it will never look exactly the same between 3DCoat and Blender, or 3DCoat and Substace Painter. Because they all use different renderers and shaders, the best you can hope for in any engine is an approximate similarity.

testing a lot lol, duplicated my object lot of time, my object has mroe than 200.000 polys, nothing bad happens, some lags when i run & jump but happens randomly and are rare, i tried different lights colors my pbr react fine to it !
At teh moment i already found a BUG the light entity disapear from the level editor after some time, i see the light effect on my scene & object but the LIGHT entity is no more there !

i selected all my objects and found the light is there, the little box BUT invisible !!!
why... thats a bug i supose

the light entity appeared by itself lol thats definitely a BUG !!
The thing is, the objects are influenced by the engine lights and shadows, the ENTITIES have to be alway 100% auto illuminated because the way they are now present in the engine are hard to see, so that's something to improve !

In the engine it's impossible to change the sky, but it has to be something normal i supose with this 5.9 version !

actually i love this GGmax version, played 8h with it today lol and still testig

when i select an entity a yellow square appear at the top, with nothing inside !

when i run the level with my entities the max FPS i get is 60fps is that something normal ?

like i said, the entities, like lights, player markers are hard to see & are too small, but still testing i saw the export to standalone is disabled at the moment !

maybe try alpha 6 which has just become available.
