Looking incredibly like a very professional Game Creation tool now.
I think Max just may rock a few cages now

This is looking fantastic! I'm definitely liking the direction Max is headed by opening up so many of the engine internals to the user.

This is all looking great! Thanks for including additional features from Wicked! I hope even more make it in eventually.

This is a very, very minor thing, but I think it would be great if we used check boxes to turn on/off features instead of sliding a slider all the way to one end. This way, you could leave a setting as it is and then turn the feature on/off via checking a box. No check, the feature is disabled. Checked, the feature is enabled. Just a preference, but what you have not works fine.

A lot of goodies to play with, Wicked is merging nicely with GGMax. Nice job Mr. Lee and team.
I ask again if those sky settings are going to be exposed via LUA commands? if so, we could write a night and day system via script.
Also would be really nice being able to disable/enable sun via LUA.
All above is just an idea and not to be made for tomorrow, just to be added to the possibles list.

That dynamic sky is amazing, so glad to see it wasn't replaced by the static skies from Classic! However, it would be really nice if we could move the sun around/change the time of day. (Both via a slider and via script. You give us such big terrain powers you can't expect us to not want to at least try with some kind of small open-world-ish thing!)

The future is looking bright!

Ditto on opening the lights and sun to scripts.

@ Lee
I wonder if playing with the pixels a little you could add some kind of lightning in the sky, you know, the kind that you see in the distance heralding a storm.

Q: Are there any controls for the position of the sun? And, if so, are these exposed in LUA?

Excellent job! Looks better and better.
One question, I did not see any sliders for Brightness and Contrast.
So if scripts are using the GG classic syntax for setting Brightness and Contrast will it still be compatible?
And same question goes for the rest of the visual settings (LUA commands) from GG classic ?

Thank you

Can you change the colour of the actual sun? I know you can change the lighting but can you change the colour of the sun object itself?

granada, I know about the 'visuals' but that changes the "ambient" colour. If you look at the actual sun object (in the video) it still stays white. I want to know can you change the actual physical sun object colour, like this:

haven't tried it yet, with my boy, but you could try modifying the skyspec.txt (SunColor)

;Night Sky
;SUNLIGHT DIRECTION VECTOR
SunDirection = -100,100,-100
;SUNLIGHT STRENGH MULTIPLIER (DEFAULT 100)
SunStrength = 100
;SUN COLOR (RGB)
SunColor = 12,12,15
;SUN ROTATION
SunRotation = 310

OR see attached pics, playing around with gamma and visual controls.

Perhaps I'm not making myself clear.

Look at these two images (from MAX):

The sun itself stays the same colour. I'd like to change it something like this:

The progress looks fantastic in general.

Please can we get an official confirmation if there is going to be a setting for shadow quality?

Yes in the next build you will be able to set the shadow map resolution for both point lights (which uses a cubemap) and spot/single lights (which is a simple basic texture). Watch out in the visuals panel at the bottom
GameGuru Classic will continue to be supported with bug fixes and functionality additions.

@Lee

Are there plans to add a checkbox for Double-sided (checking it would make textures/materials double-sided)? It's important for a variety of reasons.

Wonder if light settings will provide me the easiest way to achieve a waving light effect like I did on the video below some times ago, via LUA,
Even the shadows acting dynamically?
