Find below the latest Sneak Peek video, taking a little look at the progress of implementing the latest terrain texture painting prototype for MAX:

The last major chunk of code will be the actual virtual texture management, getting the painted canvas to storage and back again, and auto-generating the mipmaps and other tricks to make sure it stays performant.
GameGuru Classic will continue to be supported with bug fixes and functionality additions.

Finally, we will end up sculpting wonderful terrain in GGMax. Good job so far.
You have considered the possibility of including a wet clay material, such as when it is raining on the scene?

edit: adding some pic (wet mud)

Yes, I know it, I'm working late in terrain, even terrain mesh, paths, and even wet mud, as you can see in my pic above.

Wow, that looks awesome. What if you could paint the sky-- in GGMAX?!
Seems like a pretty simple addition with those tools??

Also wondering if walking level editing is going to remain in GGMAX?
I never really used it, seemed a little glitchy- but with this exceptional
textures, maybe it would be useful?

Not really, the sky will be way less polys than the terrain. Why would you want to paint the sky in GG anyway? Paint it in an art package if you want that. Having the sky work that way would slow things enormously overall.

At last the terrain painting looks useful again.
