You may like to know that I solved the Wicked Engine problem of not running. I had orginally downloaded the software from the Windows App store. Having tried many things to get it to run, I eventually downloaded Wicked again but from a server rather than the store. Much to my surprise it worked perfectly. I have never had a problem with any other Windows store app and so it took me a while to clock this.
This is not related to the above but you may also want to try this: rename the 'cellardemo' folder in alpha 3 to say, cellardemoxxx, and see if it runs. Mine did - but not the internal Wicked rendering window. This confirmed to me that the issue is Wicked related.
I then reduced the contents of the cellar demo folder to the .wiscene for and just a few appropriate assets but sadly this didn't load as I hoped it would
I sent these observations to Technical Support initially and they suggested that post them here as they may help others.
