I've recently been getting this error message when I start Game Guru, "Path Cannot Be Found - Path:terrainbank." Then next "Runtime Error: 8003 ()." The terrainbank folder is where it should be, in the files folder, nothing has changed in this area. To try and fix this I opened Steam and went to "Verify Integrity of Application Files..." - 3 files needed replacing. After this, still same error. Next I renamed the terrainbank folder to terrainbank2. And ran a verify. Still the same error. Can somebody please help me?

Can't help much but checking the code that error is reported when trying to change directory to the one reported in the error.

Check the properties of that folder to make sure it matches the others,
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

Are you using sprites? Might be trying to load in a sprite image from a non-existent folder, or create a sprite from and image not yet loaded. Check all the spellings if you accessing folders.

@Tarkus1971, I'm not using sprites. All spellings are fine. Thanks for trying to help me out b.t.w. When I'm starting up g.g. It starts loading and then hangs with runtime error 8003 at (init terrain assets). So running the Verify Integrity does nothing. All paths are good. Lately I was trying to get my character's animations working. The other day when I went to delete my non- working character from a some what blank map, with the widget, the screen went black or should I say "blank"! It then went back to the map editor. I then exited out from g.g. So could it be possible that I some how deleted something I shouldn't of? Like part of the terrain? I don't know what to do here. I guess I'll go back and take another look before it's hammer time Thanks 3com, I'll check.

I would suggest make backup of the terrain bank folder or rename it, then do the steam file integrity check again. It should install a clean terrain bank folder.

Thank you Bored of the Rings, unfortunately I already tried that. And I thought for sure it would've fixed it. Question? If I have terrainbank and my renamed terrainbank2 next to each other in the files folder. Does that matter when I try to run gg? Thanks

No it won't matter at all. it sounds like you need a complete new install.

It sounds to me as though default.fpm may be corrupted. Were I in your position I would zip up everything in gameguru\files and put it somewhere safe, then reinstall GG and try to run it. If it works without generating the error then
go into mapbank and copy default.fpm
then restore default.fpm from your zip file
then try running GG again.
If all is okay then it's not default.fpm but perhaps whatever map you were working on.
If the error returns then delete default.fpm and rename your copy of it.
Then try restoring everything *except default.fpm* from your zip file.

Apologies if I'm trying to teach my grandmother, (which I doubt, given how old I am) to suck eggs.

Good luck.

Have you by any chance just tried to create a standalone with just a start marker and a basic model ?
If that works then you know the issue is with the map ..
If you have done the verifies and reinstalls then alarm bells are ringing for me ..
