Lee and Preben’s thunder stolen?

I prefer the dark ImGui look but regardless the UI is much better (capability and speed) and coming on great too.

Cheers.

I would like to know what system GG uses, for example, will it use wav files and will the AI simulate the necessary gestures, or will it really vocalize all the phrases?
If so, can I use my own wav files?
Or the user can write the dialogs in a text file, a bit like "CrazyTalk"
Anyway very good start.

Wow, a new GG editor by the looks!
When they get the other side of the non-disclosure thing, I think we in for some nice surprises

Yeah, GG be the only software I use for game dev that does not have a dark UI style..... Heck even my Windows File explorer is dark

but what is really this? a new character creator?? is yes i dont think we need that..since i obviusly end to be limited on the long run ...unless it could give infinite combinations for dress, attacchments and so on..btw great work but if the systme shouldnt give the player to import his own animated models and use them i think it not could be very useful like it seems

(Why did you not let Lee and Preben announce this when it is ready?) My anxiety meds are going to go fast. Lol (..since i obviusly end to be limited on the long run) How can having your character's speak in g.g. for the first time ever, be a limit?

I was refering to the character creator itself related t o character creation only ..i know character speaking it would be a great addon.. but i think that devs need to ble able to add their own characters without troubles before completely appracitate the speaking feature...

i'm really tired to see the standard gg soldier in all gg games

Hi All,

We had wanted to keep our project work a surprise a while longer and show you all the features in one grand reveal, but I guess the cat is well and truly out of the bag and so we shall call our escaped feline a 'sneak peek' at one possible future for GameGuru. The shot you saw is actually for a non-violent version of the software for schools. As we want to keep a few surprises back, we have moved the new features repo to a private one so we can have a good run-up when we finally announce. And yes, we can quietly confirm that you can change the UI style from traditional light gray all the way down to dark glass mode

Happy game making!!

Thanks Lee,Can you give us a little hint when you guys plan on releasing it? Could it be Weeks or Months? Or should I just never mind? JC LEON (i'm really tired to see the standard gg soldier in all gg games) I can't agree with you more. You see JC LEON, this is a feature I wanted for the longest time. And I can not upload characters to g.g. with out them messing up. To not worry about that step, would be every thing to me.

That explains the 404 from the weekly round up report

Can we have the dark ui modes for regular GG too

Top secret. I like that kind of surprises.
Giving the character creator new features, could be the answer to the variety of AIs that users are asking for.
Anyway, now we know that something is cooking.

I am on board, sort of, Lee gave me 'collaborator' status which I think means we get shot at dawn if we stop paddling.

Unfortunately I lost my dev machine a while back and I can't get my new one to build GG so I can't make any more cool additions to the engine myself.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

I've been quietly following the progress and knew some huge changes were being made.
That image says it all, wow!
Until a year ago i thought that the €600 i've spend at GG and models were a miss, but now i'm going to expand on it with buying the new packs as well.

If your into Game Development then Personally I think the only loss would ever be the original £14:99 for GameGuru itself. That's if you were a non Pledger and if you even paid that as its more often on sale .... All the DLC's are royalty free and can be used in any engine plus Im sure many have purchased models / Packs from other stores as well ( I know I have ) so to me its all a recyclable collection of assets for my collection whether its for GG or not ..
Could be just me though

Hy Syncro.. mine was not a rant... i' m really happy to use gg to support gg and Lee and proud to be a gold pledger..i have almost all dlcs but several money i used to purchase other gg tools like importers, scripts pack, and so on..but i very happy to have them --

my honest tought is that gg will never be a finished product and able to provide the right tools like an AAA engine but nevertheless i'll continue to use it over other AAA engines most for GG people and community ..since i love all of you and i fell at home when i post on this forum or on gg discord ..long life to gg..

I didn't realise there were any engines considered finished final products as they all seem to have updates. upgrades and issues of their own. However there is one I can think of .. The " Shoot'Em-Up Construction Kit " ( or Seuck ) for the Commodore 64.
Now back in those days things used to have to work first time
And indeed it did ..

PS ..I didn't think anyone was or is ranting .. Apart from me maybe
But more just joining the conversation ..

there used to be a game with this name on floppy disks which we often played back in 1993 , i've never been able to find it on windows.
In those days i was a complete noob and bought a computer which lacked a harddrive but was able to load games from floppy disks.
My first home computer was an IBM with 1mb shared video memory, 1200 mb harddrive, 2 mb memory and of course internet.

As long as everybody is reminiscing about their first computer. Let me, for myself, wax nostalgic. My first "Microcomputing System" purchased in 1977 had a Zilog Z80 processor running at a whopping speed of 1.77 MHz. It came with a monochrome, uppercase-only text display, with 32 columns by 16 rows. The graphics were a high resolution (tongue in cheek) of 128 by 48. This package also came with a cassette storage system capable of 250 baud, The 53-key professional keyboard was molded together with the monitor as one unit. To top it off, it had 4K of memory, expandable to 16K-- if I could only come up with bucks. What did this set me back? $599 and included consternation from my wife.

Sometime In 1980 or '81, I upgraded to their newer "Microcomputing System" which included two floppy drives that had 178K of storage. I then purchased a hard drive sometime around 1989-1991. The complete unit was housed in a case that resembled an amplifier, which had room for two half-height drives. I had only one drive which was 20 MB of storage. The case also contained a 60-watt power supply and fan.

Thanks for allowing me to go down memory lane.

Late 80's I upgrade to a 3 Mhz Juko XT, 2 x floppy disks, 1 MB ram. 1 to boot Dos 2.2 and Other one to use for app's.
Had the first CGA in our community... 4 Colors... wow.... hahahaha
B&W VGA monitors....

My Programming career really started (While studying for my Degree in Engineering), when I learn to convert programs from HP 85/Hp85B tape drive system to IBM100, to Basic, later to GWBAsic/Qbasic.
Run... Load.... etc, from tape systems hahahaha
Mainframe, system using Natural, VTAM, adabas and Cobol
From there move to 286 Systems , with 10mb Hard Drives..
Remember the first Windows 3.1 installations., Took me one day to Install.
1995 I become a Lecturer at our Local College teaching computer "science" .
The computers in the Room, 486DX, with 40MB hard drives, Installing Windows 95 with 42 x 1.44KB Disks

And then time just fly..... look at us today... Running Top of the Range computers with 2TB drives, and still not enough speed and storage

Damn... I feel old....

@DannyD
Ahh, yes. QBasic. (via Tandy 1000).
Messed around with that after finding the QBasic Bible.
Fun. Should have pursued it further.

When my first 486 (or probably 386?) came I was in the Army barracks, and me
and the buddies passed the time with turn based Dungeon n Dragons battles!
Wow, you can't entertain a kid for a minute these days with that stuff!

AM, it's a good thing that I'm an American who loves British TV. Otherwise, I might not have known what a "Monty Python" was.

Back to new Character Creator--
Since I'm having no luck trying to get a STOCK GG Character set as 3rd person
player to add animations outside stock GPC, (tried everything I know- or been
told to try), then I really hope this advanced CC will make it easy and include
a large variety of animations ready to link to your character! And it can't come
sooooon enough!

Sell it, DLC, whatever-- I be buying it.
Will have to put game on hold till then...?

Im pretty sure a lot of the third person animations are hard coded to the start marker which is why no matter what you do they always try to return to the gun pose ..

The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

@synchromesh
I really believe that someone knows how to do this (add animations)
but unfortunately that information hasn't crossed my path yet.

It seems like it was designed to be accessible, but a little tricky, might need
a completely customized script, but I haven't started a GPC script from
scratch because the foundation is working in the stock one.

Hrmmm... well, I guess no luck adding that feature to my game.

I'm on leave at the moment if there is something I may be able to assist with
3rd person is capped to around 4-5 anim states only, 1 was removed a couple of years back, looking at synchromesh video may have reapplied. *oh, just noticed thread topic, maybe dm me not to derail.

Why would you leak this sensitive information when its obviously not yet ready!

I dont get it. What did you get from it?
