I was just wondering if it was possible to make a roguelike game w/ randomly generated levels

Yep, by use of LUA scripting you can assign wall entities as being dynamic.

I recall someone years ago actually creating an external program or assistant software that would even help generate random terrain, trees and stone placement. Somewhere on the forums.

Funny you should mention that. I have some tools for lua I was planning on selling soon as a 'roguekit' on the store. I'll try to get that done shortly but you may have to wait a bit. The Lua code for it is complex and as such I want to make sure I have all the necessary functions before putting it up.

Yes it is but it does take some work and sometimes in my case some help (thanks to Amen Moses and 3com) the project I'm working on atm involves a rogue class its by no means there yet but will give you some ideas maybe.
