Sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this thread. I have made custom character with fuse 3ds max and fbx2gg. Now my custom characters is to have the akm from Enhanced weapons pack. Now in fbx2gg I gave her assult rifle animations and then copyied original shotgun soldier bmp & fpe + added her custom xfile and textures. Everything works great i see her in game as ai/bot and she fires at me with the akm and i take damage. Only problem is there is no gun sound when she is shooting. I am wondering if i can fix this somehow?

I change in the fpe file the desc and model to her name.
Then hasweapon = enhanced\akm
Insted of original shotgun that was there.
But i don't know how to make sound
When i as player use akm ingame sound works, but not for the ai :/

When i create other bots/ai and use the "original" weapons in GG that all works great animations + sound

Yea it is cause fire sound on the enhance weapons pack are not mono. They need to be changed to mono .wav files.

It didn't do the trick for me I change them to mono wav and i got "runtime error 3001" and game crashed. I tried with the AKM. Luckily I saved the original OGG files so no harm done. But it's so frustrating. Why do they release weapons with a different format then the original. It's not fun in a single-player game to be the only one with a damn rifle :S

It might have been I who F** up the converts because I used a "free program" to do so. But if anyone have converted the files successfully id love to use them! <3

It works to give the bots the AKM but there is still no sound when they are shooting ;_;

I have used Audacity with pretty good results for sound formats.
I'm pretty sure (since it's been about 8 months), but you can split
the channels and save a mono file. Also I think GG uses -- ?
14k or.. (mem) whatever... check it and let us know!

So we can all remember... !

Thanks for helping guys! But I still cant get it to work :I

When the npc uses the AKM from enhanced weapon pack I only hear Bullets_FlyBy I guess from the GG>Files>audiobank>misc

As smallg suggested I tried to change the OGG files into OGG mono via the site for the AKM but still no sound when npc is shooting. (Only bullets flying by) I don't know if I am in the right path but heres is the sound folder i tried to change GG>Files>gamecore>guns>enhanced>AKM

I also tried again to change the sound into wav files like the original weapons 1911/shotgun etc but that just crashes the game, so no luck there.

WAV Mono, not ogg. Sound is handled by DX and DX is Microsoft rubbish so it's always best to use Microsoft rubbish file formats with it!
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

It does work. Try using audacity to convert.

Or move one of the 'fire.wav' sounds that you know works from one of the other guns as a temporary measure to get you going.

Also, make sure entry in gunspec.txt is pointing to the wav file (rather than ogg), e.g.:

sound1 = fire.wav

Cheers.

Save sound files as " 16-bit, Mono PCM audio wave file " for best results

cybernescence thank you thank you thank you!!!

I think editing gunspec.txt did the trick! Now its working for the npc + me and no crashes!
I put the fire.wav file insted of the fire.ogg and just change in the text document to fire.wav

Now let the games begin!
