Hi All,

I am looking at possible new DLC's for GameGuru in 2019, and one idea that has recently popped up is the idea of a DLC containing nothing but characters. The tool MakeHuman would be used to create them (all walks of life) to populate your games with. They would all use the Uber Character animation rig and simply drag and drop into your levels. It would be accompanied with new AI scripts for non-combat behaviors such as general walking about, sitting around, getting on with things, effectively allowing you to populate your indoor and outdoor scenes.



Let me know if this is of interest and whether you would buy this DLC? We feel it makes sense to ask the community before we commission the work to get these models created, tested and prepared for sale. A simple '+1' would be fine to register your interest!

Yes, i'd buy this DLC as well.
I found that the clothing options are limited in MakeHuman, but the characters are looking really good.
I've only found 1 medieval dress but apart from that no other clothing to create medieval dressed characters.

I've not really tried to hack at the character creator much enough to see if its possible to do clothing swaping in game. But if that was possible where the media was all in the game we could have characters be randomized with what clothes and attachments they had. Potentially even skin color and etc.

I know amen was able to get entities to use attachments. So i guess something like that is possible.

Would be nice however to see more characters provided by TGC in some way as the soliders have been in the fore-front in the showcases and marketing for half a decade.

I'm in definite

Loved character creator but was compromised with the body
It was already animated and thus I could not load the model and add or mutate the body for different people

A varied choice be great
I'm total for fantasy medieval monsters
Having 3 types of people all around is a bit limiting

Great idea for a pack, especially if spanning lots of genres and time periods (though probably weighted a bit more towards modern day characters as that's where most of the other DLC leans). Please make sure they all come with LODs so crowds and busy scenes can be feasible.

Does most of them can be use as tp?
Nor gun pose and swiming anims?
I would like use chars in not war game, such as journalist, doctor, an investigator, or a simple store clerk, as example.
maybe a young man like zelda in the genre fantasy.

Not sure I would buy it. I imagine there'll be a wide selection of different genres and probably end up not using half the characters (and I'm sure it will cost a pretty penny for 100 characters).

I'd rather see large packs of characters focused on specific genres.

Problem for me is GG already comes with over 200 characters of all genres.
No engine even comes close to that for stock content .

What we don't have is the normal " all walks of Life " characters so for many this will be awesome

I use make human a lot only down side is the clothing, but 100 characters for GG is always going to be a winner

If it will be is a fairly diverse set of characters, as suggested by the commentators above (even if they are all humanoids) I would buy this set It would be very interesting.

PS (edit). At the same time it would be useful to add new behavioral scripts AI for some new characters.
Maybe someone from the great community scripters would take part in the work on this AI ? (just a thought).

Be great to see a diverse set of characters.

Country Yokel, Farmer, Admin Staff, Office Personnel, shop keepers, even vagrants, street vendors, buskers, the list could be endless.

If we had a set of "ordinary" people to add to our levels, that could follow waypoints, and NOT attack the player it would be fantastic.

Superb idea!

But let's not forget the Robots, because ...
YOU CAN'T FIGHT LIKE A ROBOT!

Please make this package be also enriched with some 15-20% of decent robots, bot-enemies, androids or other humanoid synthetic walking character/paraphernalia!

Basically anything in the spectrum ranging from slick modern "I , Robot"-variants ( with their aseptic Appleish "je ne sais quoi"-chique) to classical human-looking "benevolent" Androids like Ash or Bishop (Maybe with some noticeable malfunctions or damages) to outfreaking M.A.R.K.13s, a Tripod maybe, floating tentacle-featuring drones and the likes... Or what about empathic sentient robots (With a reproductive plan) like those three very well prepared mates from "The Creation Of The Humanoids". Personally, I wouldn't want to see funny Robots in this bundle, though...

Don't get me wrong: Those examples above are for inspiration only, I wouldn't use a character-entity if it resembles a perfect copy of somethign copyright-protected by Walt Disney. So no 3CPOs please! Oh, and no Transformers. Bad Transfromers, so cheesy. Micronauts are fine.

Did I miss anything?

About 5000 character models should do the trick, with full AI scripts for each of course.
