pbroverride = 1 allows the engine to use shaders for DNS models
If you change the setting at all you must:
--set forceloadtestgameshaders = 1 this will force GG to compile the shaders
---- load any map in GameGuru and run it
---- note this leads to a long load time and black screen - but be assured it is not broken
--now change it back ie: set forceloadtestgameshaders = 0
----And loading will be back to normal
If you leave pbroverride = 0 the engine will use PBR shaders even for your dns models, and they should look better (but not always)
Pretty sure when using the default setting the engine doesn't use the specular map at all so you can delete all your specular textures.
Edit: I have not seen any slowdown with pbroverride=1, but I also have never used the EBE.
