my imported Xobject is completly wrong inside GG, i also tried FBX but GG keeps crashing and rebooting everytime.
so here you can see my model inside GG... and teh real texture & rendering in 3ds max

if i look on another side of the imported object it look like this ( see picture)
and also you have the 3ds max textured object, of course i tried to export toi every format version for the x object and tried everything with fbx
but fbx import from 3ds max make GG keeps crashing and rebooting in loop, so is no way to import fbx files with this last update 18/06/2018 !

so yes....... another fail inside GG....

if i show you how i created this rock low poly, here you can see all the steps + the final mesh with turbo smooth applied.
i think the final result inside GG is speechless...

when i imported the model and launched the game.... and when i saw the result this was my reaction:

so im trying my model in others engines, maybe its my mesh???

nope... this is the result inside leadwerks engine, no holes, no faces inverted, everything looks nice and smooth.

Triangulate the faces and export again ,that should cure it

Select all the vertices and weld them ,see how that works

dont you see GG doesnt understand "import mesh+textures" the way it is developed is so wrong i can't believe you are asking for welding vertices or to see the uvw etc... no, its not the mesh, its not the texture or the uv, it's GG who doesn't make the import CLEAN!!!
with X objects or FBX it is NOT WORKING !!!!

Don't you SEE the renders i did of my 3d mesh+textures, don't you see the same object imported RESULT ???

this is my result inside S2ENGINE HD.. just drag and drop and i get it !!!!
SO do you stil thing it's my mesh......... NOPE.....it's just GG who doesn't import/understand FBX & X formats !!!

SO let's compare

FIRST PICTURE fbx imported inside GG (left) i tested fbx 2009 to 2010, 2013 and 2014-2016-2017
SECOND PICTURE fbx imported inside s2engine hd(middle) tested with fbx 2013
and my result inside 3ds max (right)
and the last oen another gg picture of the same model imported....what a failure !

Just by adding the fbx it worked directly from the first try inside s2engine hd, inside leadwerks engine too, but GG seems to resist and to tell me, "this mesh is to complex for me, bye"
And after that, you really thing users, and people are happy and are going to stay calm with this kind of product ???

Today i spent 1 FULL DAY testing GG... another fail !!!

You have seen the work in progress threads where all these people have imported custom media? This concludes that it does work.
Why would you not want someone to look over your model?

Why do you wish to use game guru. I was on your website. (cool stuff man!) You are a professional VFX artist, you seem to be able to use other engines...why do you not do that instead? GG will likely never have the features you have asked for here on many occasions. Its just not its scope.

We can also not let you make this type of thread constantly drawing these comparisons. This is the last warning.

If you want to get this model into gg, you can send me the thing in a PM and I look over it.
If you just want to complain, then this is not deemed as constructive. Especially since there are so many other choices out there.

Also, the "import model" feature in the engine itself is not so good, its better to do it manually.

Have you never been to the work in progress section??? Have you never seen all these other users importing custom models, weapons and characters that work???
Importing models into GG is very different from other engines, so why not let us help?

Imothep I'm trying to work out how if gg's import is so bad then where the heck did all the thousands of models that come with gg get imported into gg .... oh yeah it's because it does work ... you're obviously doing something wrong, we can't help you if you don't answer our questions. Why ask for help if you're just going to ignore advice?

Oh and I have a theory on what's gone wrong, but I'm not going to help you because you've been nothing but rude, arrogant, and obnoxious, if you can't work out how to use gg yourself i suggest you go use another engine because you'll not get any help here with that attitude.

@ imothep85, well, you don't have to continue with GG. That's your prerogative. Simply stick with leadworks and s2engine hd. We wouldn't mind if another very rude, obstinate and obnoxious individual no longer visits the forums. Especially one who doesn't seem to want to cooperate in trying to make it work -- to find out why it's not working for them when it is working for dozens or more other people.

I have been working with custom media and media created myself since the dawn of Game Guru's inception and I do not experience the plectra of problems you encounter. When offered help you reject it and instead rant in comparisons to S2 Engine.

My recommendation to you is to quit GG all together and move all your project efforts to the S2 Engine. I personally will no longer be assisting or attending to any of your requests on the forums here-forth.

I realize that it's a rare occurrence for me to appear here, these days. But sometimes there's a person so special....so worthy....that I just can't help but come out of hibernation, if only for a moment.

It seems that your passion for game design and development has appeared to spill over into written word on these very Forum Boards. While I understand that the ink is barely dry on your latest plea for what you deem to be "essential" in the ever-evolving development cycle of the game development suite we all lovingly call "GameGuru"...

I'm going to have to be the Bad Guy that holds you to account for what appears to be a waterfall of emotional threads and posts.

I know....I know....it won't seem fair, at first. But trust me; in time, you will grow to understand that there is a sort of "unspoken agreement" in our little Community. We try to abstain from things like:

- Shouting in all Caps
- Telling Seasoned Veterans that they don't know what they're talking about
- Continually bashing GameGuru for all the times it has let us down
- Making comparisons to other game engines that do, in fact, have far more than a single person leading the charge
- Badgering the Witness


These, are but a few of the "no-go" areas that we try oh-so hard to steer clear of. It's a difficult path; but most here tend to stay on it.

This is what I'm going to do for you, and believe me; I've given this a LOT of thought (days even). I'm going to place you on what we call a "timeout". Which means that any of your future postings will be "moderated"; in that we will look at what you've posted, and either approve or deny it. We may even try to guide you further; but turning all caps into lower case...or blanking out the names of the other "more better" game engines. I believe, in time, that you can become an asset to the GameGuru Community. And I, and the other Moderators here, are here to guide you there. You can do it. I believe in you.

I have not more issues with the importer than I have with importing random assets into Unity.
And so far imported over 200 assets from static props to characters.
