3rd Party Models/Media Chat / Statuspanel Code 100 Custom ICON Issue!

I have been making some custom colour icons for weapons, but every time I set
Statuspanel Code 100 in the gunspec the custom icon will not show. This is not new to the
public preview, is has been a constant issue that I have come across converting old FPSC weapons.

I have used a current .png Icon images as a template from huds, colt-icon and replaced the image
with my colour image, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

I have Named the Green Pistol ICON works fine - done the same for the Sniper Pistol & ICON .png Size 196 x 46 transparent,
but it will not display.

I have done quite a few weapons so I know what I'm doing is right, therefore I can only assume that there is an issue
with GameGuru recognising custom ICON for the status panel 100 setting.

I have done restarts of PC, Restarts of GG reinstalled GG over and over but the issue still exists.
Is there anyway to clear up the issue like flushing setting or something, can it be looked into please as it has become
quite a time consuming issue.

Aer you using the weapon welder ?
With that it can make and import the icons .
You could see how and where their put ?
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Hi synchromesh, Weapon welder does not import the ICON in gamecore it will use the standard pistol icons in editor but the gamecore is diffferent hud icon not entity icon m8.

Try putting your custom icon.png icon in the weapons folder and keep status panel 100, see if that will work.
BSP uses this technique to mark his weapons.

Hi myke, done all that and then some, i have even used BSP Icon as template and removed his gun added mine, still no joy.
i have even compressed the png to 1kb from 6kb size just not having it at all, I have also place a duplicate inside GG
languages / neutral / gamecore / huds / ammohealth.

I have tried 3 file names = 1. ICON
2. icon-mk-xix50ae-sniper-pistol
3. icon-mk-xix50ae

I have attached the ICON png file & the Image of the gun and the image below shows the gamecore setup for the weapon

have you tried saving it as 32bit ?

Hi GraPhiX, The image works just tested it on BPS weapon and the ICON image displays in hud


So I guess it must be an issue with weapon welder not importing the ICON string information
from FPSC , will have to do some more texsting.

Ok then weapon welder needs to export the png as 32 bit it seems DX11 requires 32 bit png for the alphas to work this is the same for terrain textures etc....

Would seem to be the case, just my guessing, but I can not get any custom icon to work anymore from weapon welder imports.

ah, ok I'll have a look at the program see what I can do with the png images.

ok, so most of the FPSC hud_icon.dds files are 32 bit. Not found any 16 bit or less images yet. Will see if I can find the BPS weapons as I know I have them around somewhere. Please bare with me

by Errant AI - weapons Pack 9 FPSC 9 Handguns - Mk XIX 50.AE Sniper Pistol.

Other issue not sure if its gamegu issue? but when you shoot something there is no bullet surface damage on anything.

thanks for the link, I'll purchase if I can't find it on my external drives as I'm sure I have them already. All the conversions I've done so far for EAI, BSP have 32 bit hud images.

repurchased even though I have them already just in case I'm missing something. All of the images are 32 bit. The WW converts the hud_image.dds FPSC file to .png format in 32 bit. All seem to work ok for me in GameGuru. the only thing I recenty did was change the .ini file to parameters below:

from :
forceloadtestgameshaders=0
pbroverride=1

to :
forceloadtestgameshaders=1
pbroverride=0

and then back to:
forceloadtestgameshaders=0
pbroverride=1


Other that I've no idea why they are not working for you. very strange.

Thanks for the link m8, I am going to back my whole PC up and do a full reinstall has I should not be having issues
with software light software like I am doing. Not looking forward to backing up 2 TB ... Oh well here goes...

Mine does ?
What version are you using ... whilst importing you get to select an icon ...
keep scrolling to you see the weapon you just imported ...

I think I have issue on my PC because every hud.x i import will not open unless I use mender 1.4 version to
fix it, tried fragmotion just get stretched meshes. Been through all my software and some have running issues
all i can think is a file corruption or somthing. so doing a full clean install of windows.
