But i will keep on trying to get it as high as possible.

Hi all, progress has been slow over the last couple of month's
but finally i have got an idea for my intro when the game is going to start.
the idea is to have the player approach the harbor on a finishing boat .
My son wrote the script for me to have the player and boat moving at the same time and also
in the video you can see i also have an NPC and Backpack ( with complements from Bod ) also moving with the boat, using the same script.
At the end of the video , the player are transported to the starting point on to another boat.

( Sorry for the video that is not playing smoothly , because of my Pc )
Now i just have to work in some fading black screens before the player are transported to the starting point. and still a lot of other work to be done.

Thanks for the script RoanDoom

That's a cool script! What are the limitations of it? Can you free roam around the boat, or are you stationary? I'm guessing you'll use that boat ride as an opportunity to introduce the story though voiceovers and/or onscreen text, right?

The one thing that stands out as being absent is water/sea noise, both when you're on the boat, and when you're on the quayside. That would really add to the ambience.

Great work so far - it's one those levels you just want to get into and explore!

Avenging Eagle, thank you, yes the limitation is the player is stationery but can look around,
and yes you are spot on, i am going to use this boat ride as an opportunity to introduce the story though voiceovers and/or onscreen text,
must still decide. lol and yes i will add the water / sea noise.

Hey great!

This is shaping up really well, I am impressed.

Small criticism: In your video, once you look at the city scape, the scaling is completely off. You see that some buildings have small windows, implying a certain scale, and the one right next to it has huge windows- especially the one on the far left. You should scale them better, otherwise it looks like that building has windows that are up to 4 stories high. (err, does this make sense or should I upload screenshot?)

I love that as an intro piece. With some ambient sounds, voice-overs and fade in/outs it will look really polished.

Well done to you and your son

Cheers.

Hi all , i have realized that maybe i should have named my game The Never Ending Story.
Because just as i think i have the intro level for my game , then my head is running away with me again.
So i have left the harbor level for now as i am happy with the layout for now. still need to finalize the game play on the map but i am happy.

So ,... i have started with an underwater prison as my intro level, a very small map just to get the player in the mood for some shooting and to escape out of the prison. in this level the player is captured by an anonymous terrorist group to get him of the grid and to torture him for some secret information that he has, because our player is a secret agent with a lot of sensitive government information. So you need to escape as soon possible.

Here is just a couple of pics of the layout of the prison .
Top view no water:

Top view some water

Top view with correct water height.

Prison yard inside.

Some workshop keeping pressure up under water

Escape hatch view to surface.

science boy,
once you are on your you tube Chanel you click on our video you want to up load and then you look at the address bar, you will see something like this.:: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dqBF9jvFKo
it will look different for your video this is a sample of one of my video's , then you only copy everything after the =
like so: 1dqBF9jvFKo
this is the part you are going to use in your thread 1dqBF9jvFKo
in your thread you click on video , select you tube and after that paste your link and then click on video again and select you tube again.
it would then looks something like this. :

Hope this will help you

I see you are also moving forward. That pleases me. And water is also a topic that I like. I once had a ship's interior with bridge, loading and engine room, berths and so on for the FPSC after the Art Ghostship. That was also interesting and instructive for me ... well. HI all, just an update as to why there is no progress.
Mainly due to the fact because of the interaction in the game between player and Npc
Npc not up to expectation.
No lips sink
No big variety of characters
No modification possible in Character creator on Models shuts as changing characters arms , body parts + + ,
in GG Classic,
Ps ( i know GGMax is on its way, but even then i am not guaranteed about this.)
Quote: "* The new Character Creator actually welds the various body parts together to form a single final model for your entity"

Quote: "No plans to add morph targets to any part of the new character creator"
