Disappearing Characters
Unfortunatly my saved map is mostly non-standard models..and scripts...
and I know Lee always wants a small test level that uses standard GG models
and scripts to produce an effect that can be repeated...
To that end I have been trying to make a test level using standard entities..
but alas after many frustrating days I have yet to create the effect..

I even tried to repeat the effect... starting a new level but using my non-standed models..
but with no joy.. like you they refused to disapear..
The nearest I ever got.. was when I placed a fire flame decal and the character
partially disapeared as it walked through the flames... the flame blocking out the
character even when the flame was way behind the character.. I said yes at least thats
part of the problemn.. but alas I never got it to repeat this flame effect a second time..
So I think it is just one of those things when you use an old created level in a newer version
of GG.. you some times get side effects... that can't be repeated when you create a new map with the new GG version..

Yeah, that decal issue has been around for a long while. I noticed this many builds ago, way before the DX11 update, but never got around to reporting it since the talk of DX11 also presented a hope for getting better effects than what decals can offer.

Some times grass is showing in front of the decal, but only as certain angles, and does not happen with all decals. This be an old map that demos the issue running in the last DX9 version:

Are the characters that are disappearing mutlitexture characaters? I think Lee is still working on getting mutlitexture entities to work.

Mine just vanish ( sometimes ) when I go back to the editor ... Totally random and default stock characters ...

The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

This is the fog decal, first in 5/12 version and then in the current PP2.

Is there a setting that must be changed for the transparency? or does it require more shader work?

I thought that had been fixed in the last update

Disappearing Characters
The new release 2018.03.21 DX11 PP
Has now fixed my disappearing skeletons that I reported at top of this page...

When I first ran this new release and tried my dungeon map the skeletons appeared but still some parts
where not drawn when the background was a non PBR model. I ran it multiple times always with same problem.

I then replaced one of the non PBR models and saved the level then ran it again
and all the skeletons where shown all the time even when they had
previously had parts not being drawn when the model behind them was not PBR..
I tried it multiple times all ok..

I then closed down GG then restarted GG and ran the level another 4 times and the skeletons where shown all the time..

So I think that re-saving the map in this new version (along with the updated GG code) has Fixed this problem.
