I had a years subscription for Solidworks (2015). (student edition)
Its still my favourite CAD software to use ,as its has applications designed for mechanical and electrical engineering.
But "SOLIDWORKS Standard" is all you need for modelling.
But its an expensive subscription based software.
The 2015 edition didn't support .x export. I had to export in .stl format.
Then i used another cad package to convert the .stl into a .x file.
So its only good for static models with .stl.
