Hello!

Wondered if there is a excisting pixel shader or if its even possible in Game guru. I saw that unity have one, https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/16314

This is what I'd assume would work in FPSC but not sure if it does in GG? Anyway to call post-processing full screen shaders in GG?

No not exactly. If you see my link. But yes i mean that kind of shader effect overlaying the game.

Teabone: if pixel.fx is for modeltextures to be pixelated i already have that

Its for pixelating everything on screen. But again not sure if it will work in GG :/

To use the current retro effect. Edit this file using notepad:
\Game Guru\Files\effectbank\reloaded\settings.fx

Locate this line:
//#define RETRODITHER // make a retro dither look

And change it to:
#define RETRODITHER // make a retro dither look

Yes just remove "//" infront of the line and save , now when you start GameGuru you will have the retro look

I also made a pixellation shader like the one you see in Unity, it include the same option, you can specify the pixel size and how many colors you like in the palette. I made this for another user for this game ( it will get a retro update ).

I already converted it to GG , but this was just when Lee started on the DX11 update, so im not really able to make changes to the shaders while Lee is Improving/Optimizing/DX11 upgrading/Adding PBR/Visual +++ adding/Cleaning up/Bug fixing/ ... our shaders , but when he is done i get right back into adding more shader goodies again.

So pixellation will come to GG when DX11 is ready.



This will also be added to GG Loader .

Preben, your knowledge about the gg shaders never fails to impress me.
You know you watched too many of Lee's Live Brodcasts when you're at work and have an earwig from his twitch intro music....

Yes i added it some time ago , sorry must remember to make a thread about new features

settings.fx:

//#define PIXELLATEUV // PE: Another great Retro effect.

You can control how large the pixels should be and how many color should be used:
#define PIXELLATEUVx (250.0) // PE: used by PIXELLATEUV to define pixel size x.
#define PIXELLATEUVy (200.0) // PE: used by PIXELLATEUV to define pixel size y.
#define PIXELLATECOLOR (16.0) // PE: (16.0) Reduce palette used. Lower = Less colors.

You need to set forceloadtestgameshaders=1 first ..
However for me it takes a whole lot longer to load ?
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Works! Yes takes a bit longer. When starting testgame, screen freezed for 10-20sec before and after loading

You only need forceloadtestgameshaders=1 enabled until you load the shadcewr changes once, once you have loaded once you can switch back to forceloadtestgameshaders=0 to make the loading faster again and the new shader option will stay enabled. forceloadtestgameshaders=1 is effectively a way to refresh the shader settings when you change them, you don't need it all the time, just the first time you load gameguru after a change.

Ahh I Did notice that simply because I couldnt turn it off .. I thought I had messed up the setting,fx ini
So I deleted and re verified which rectified it … Ok so how do you turn it off ?

or do you mean how to turn the pixel shaders off again?

Just comment the line out again, change forceloadtestgameshaders to 1 and restart gameguru, once it's loaded go back and change forceloadtestgameshaders to 0 and it should be sorted.

Did all of the above ..loaded in my game and I had the c64 version
Even though as far as I could tell I put everything back and restarted a good few times
All sorted now though ..
