Hi Guys,

I have added some models to the store, these are single texture models (some of the older multi texture are free in my free media thread).

I have started with the Children's Playground https://www.tgcstore.net/pack/10972

Really nice models, you have put quite a lot of detail into them.

OK I think I understand illumination maps now LOL only just learned about DNSI and we are moving to PBR, I am sure we can still use the DNS system, am I right in thinking this?

please ignore the big buildings I did them as a quick test for multicolour the models are poo lol any hints or tips on how to improve the illumination maps would be most welcome, I have not used any other lighting in this video so may be a bit dark.

I have created a video on my PBR workflow with Quixel, I am no expert but thought some of you may find it useful, the current workflow does work in the Beta, I cannot show you that but can show you this

Those odd diagonal lines showing on the frame are because your face is being warped due to NGons, it most engines/software don't know how to render them and try to curve them and you end up with a crease like that. If you find any NGons in you model just link some of the extra vertices together with edge loops so you only have 3 or 4 sided faces, then it will render them without the crease

No problem, it still looks good even fr an old model, and the video looks very useful for anyone who uses quixel.

Oh and don't worry i will do that Blender > Substance Painter > GG video i promised, i've just had flu and it's left me with a chest infection so i'm waiting for that to sort itself out.

thank you Devlin,

I will do another Video soon from model to in game, I will probably start another thread and do Thor's Hammer in sketchup to UU3D to Quixel to GG, I am hoping one of the Blender Guru's a 3D Max Guru, a Wings 3D Guru and any other modelling package Guru will copy me and do the same model in their preferred applications.

I think this would go a long way in prospective artists making a uniformed decision on what kind of workflows are available and how to make a basic entity.

It will be important that it is the same model done in the different packages just to show how things can be done in various suites if we all did different models I don't think it would work.

I will sleep on this and probably do 3 videos 1 in sketchup 1 in Ultimate Unwrap 3D Pro and the final one in Quixel.

Would anyone be willing to help me with this and is there any interest for this ? I am no expert I fumble through but I do not mind showing how I do things.

Yeah either a normal issue, or more likely an ngon or loose vertices should be simple to fix
