I Would like to use the jetpack hud, the arms would be perfect for my moose joysticks, whom do I need to ask for permission and is this allowed?
my second question would be is there anyone out there (looking at you BOTR lol) that could show me how to change the Jet pack to my joy sticks?

thank you

The hud layer is located in this folder.
Files\gamecore\hudlayers

You can open it in Fragmotion to get a look at it. BOTR did a toturial on how to change things

I did a charger for some one a while back.

Are the joy sticks just meshes, do you have a pic? If they are meshes, have you tried merging onto the jetpack?

ok, if you do get permission, then you should be able to just merge them on.

If you can just use as is ,the thumb animations can be used for the guns and rockets .

Yes you can use that HUD layer and modify it for your use.
BOTR has the right solution for what you want without setting up your own rig.

Which is pretty simple. Set a skeleton or bones rig with the intended eyes at the 0,0,0 point in 3d space.
This is where the HUD camera in GameGuru is focused on.

Attach to arms to the rig, then attach which weapon to the rig, and animate what your movements need to be.

Export it as a HUD Layer x file with animation, and test it out in Game Guru.

So am I right in thinking that anything that comes stock with gameguru, or in a model pack, or in an open source FPSC model pack: legally we are free to adjust, amend or adapt the models in any way we see fit?

Yes, but only for personal use or use in a game you make.

Redistribution of the altered model (script, sound, image etc) is not allowed without permission.

I give further permission (over that already confirmed) to share the modified model with this community if you wish (providing you do not charge anything for the modified assets). You can simply zip up the modified assets and attach the zip to a forum post to share it here.

Does this include stuff in the free models and media section if it has been made for gameguru?

That's a question for the author of the particular model, some threads there specify usage/license others do not, where they do not you should ask the author directly.

I always assume 'free' means for personal use only including any alteration/re-texturing etc. If you intend to re-distribute the model/media then you should get permission to do so first.

Common sense really.

ishudlayer = <hudlayer name> in the FPE and X file and texture files in the gamecore/hudlayers folder. Maybe inspect the jetpack entity FPE/lua script and gamecore hudlayers folder.

@GraPhix - got joysticks to work- a black square is showing and the textures look strange but it works... you need to change the name of your .X file to Jetpack9 ie. backup the jetpack files and/or rename them to something else..... I forgot the jet pack is hard coded...... I thought the lua scripting side had been opened up...looks like not....
