How do you alter the height of the ocean water? It's too low - I'd like to raise it.

Also, how do we make our own skyboxes and include them in GG? I need a nice nebula/space skybox so it looks like you are in space.

How do you turn off terrain so that I can make a space level?

Mike

Hi Mike,

- Not possible at this time

- unsure of this one I'm afraid, BoltActionGaming has a few nice Skyboxes so may be worth tracking him down

- in-game command, can't remember the key at this time, F11 maybe? and then option will appear at the bottom to turn off VEG TERRAIN WATER etc

Yes you can change water height and default terrain height by changing values in setup.ini

You can make sky boxes or sky domes yourself. Suggest you google that as a bit of a specialist subject to describe here. Easiest way is to buy one as suggested. Some nice ones on the store.

HideTerrain() removes the rendering of terrain but it is still there for collision so you'll need to get your spacecraft up high. Also may need to drop Water & Reflections slider below 25 or you may get spurious terrain reflections even with it hidden. F11, as suggested, also gives option to turn off terrain, water etc for testing.

Cheers.

What size is the tileable paint textures? Will 1024x1024 work or can it be more hi-res? Smaller?

Hi all

RE skyboxes: save the files as dds using 8.8.8 - RGB 24 bpp - unsigned compression

Quote: "What size is the tileable paint textures?"

There are 16 textures in use now so performance is key I think.
Use 1024 (standard) for best look\performance concerns, going smaller, would not look as good, going bigger can look better but suck more FPS.

Reliquia....
