I think it interferes with his "Asteroids" remake (which is awesome, I might add). I suspect it also contributes to the 1.8GB file that he has, lol. I suspect GG puts a lot of extra stuff in the standalone that really isn't necessary, but what do I know?

Yes it interferes big time, for some reasons even if you turn off collisions and set Physics off entities still react to the 'hidden' terrain which looks really weird when you are in 'space'.

So if you hide it the GG engine still renders it in the background,i to have no clue.just thinking out loud.

'Hide' just mean don't render it, the physics still seems to apply (even when every entity has physics off and eery script says collisions off!).

What I am asking for is a Lua command to simply do away with terrain completely.

Even if you hide terrain collision is still working , if not all your dynamic objects would start to fall into the endless , but yes in your case if would be nice to be able to disable terrain collision.

For clarity, do you mean 'make the terrain invisible' or 'remove the terrain completely, including all physics collision on it'?

He means remove it completely, so we can create space games with gravity off and move the player and entities in any direction without hitting invisible terrain.

Wot Belidos said.

I thought I had solved the problem by raising the player way up high but the terrain is still interacting with the asteroids in the distance.

The player doesn't move btw, instead it is the world that is being moved around.

That would Help me out big time also. Having it removed would be a big step forward for my Sci Fi game. Thank You
