There are many new functions and things to do with code and I think code editor is very important.

Not planned at the moment at any point soon. There's a graphical version underway by a third party if you prefer that blueprint feel. Otherwise, perhaps notepad++ would be better than nothing. I still use only basic notepad myself and generally have no issues. I open up my GG script folder and just flip between any script I am making and GG project. I don't really think it's that much of an issue myself, make a shortcut on your desktop for your scripts folder and it's a quick job to get to any script you want to change or start from scratch.

What DVader said. No need for an internal code editor this will just take up more resources in GG. The time will be better spent on FX shaders, AI, GUI, all the rest, etc. All you need it notepad++ then set it up to even make back files of your script.

I know at some point Lee wants to make GG have more options, maybe in the TAB-TAB area to easily interact with entities AI, etc but I don't think this will be an option until he looks at the GUI.

I've tried several options to install lua but they all do not seem to work.

Lee has talked about a Lua GUI to be implemented one day. BTW, I recently stumbled on a really nice RPG design tool called "Smile Game Builder" (on Steam). There is no coding but you can create some powerful events by making a kind of flowchart. If Lee sees this it might be worth having a look at it when the time comes to start on the Lua GUI.

There's nothing stopping people designing with flowcharts, I seem to remember WH Smiths selling plastic templates, pencils and even paper!

Transferring a flowchart to code is probably the easiest thing on earth to do, even easier than colouring in with crayons.

Ye I was looking at that as well ...Its a bit pricey for me at the moment ( I don't want it that bad ) and Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA which I'm never overly keen on .. But it does look pretty cool

OK, maybe when I said flowcharts I wasn't entirely clear. They resemble flowcharts but they are interactive and each panel has various options and directly controls the game.

3rd Party EULA?

A bit like those horrible fiddly things in the U4 engine and in Blender? Never understood why people think they are easier to use that a simple script, it's a bit like the UML rubbish at work, they spend months drawing little stick men connected to boxes with arrows then they ask me to code it all, I just phone the customer and ask "So what do you want it to do?" and write the code from their answer.

Mind you after 40 years coding I'm probably the very definition of old fashioned.

Blueprint in UE4. Honestly, I don't understand it beyond the light switch tutorial. Even that seems somewhat illogical to me. It is not intuitive at all, at least to me. Substance uses something kinda similar to adjust properties of textures and maybe I'm just old as well, but my mind just doesn't follow any of it. I don't even consider myself a programmer, although I've written quite a bit of code for personal projects in various languages. That kind of thing I can follow (at least to a certain extent )

Like a lot of things,i think tools just get bloated in the end.I have seen a lot of people do great things with simple tools over the years.
