Hey Guys,

my game is about to get released soon on steam.
30 minutes ago, I downloaded my game (I am the admin, wich means I can download it and play even though it's not available on steam yet)
and tried to launch it via steam.
Now, whenever i launch it, i get the error message: runtime error 3002
when I go to the directory and select the .exe the game starts like it should!

Any Ideas? I am in big trouble if I can't get this fixed...

Seen the error and fixed it in the past. Can't tell you how though, normally saw it while scripting if that's any help to you. Never put anything on Steam so can't really help beyond that.

#define RUNTIMEERROR_SOUNDLOADFAILED 3002

Did you update a sound file and it did not get to the standalone build?

No, there is no Sound file missing... When I launch the Game without the steam shortcut - just clicking the .exe in the directory, it runs all perfect!
This problem is only with the steam shortcut and the launch thing in the library. The game itself runs properly!
That's why I don't get it. bevore I wrote this thread I looked up all other issues with the 3002 error that have been adressed..
I am standing in the dark here.... maybe it fixes itself when I upload a new version...

Well a few other peeps here have put GG games on Steam, maybe they will spot this and help you out. Maybe Lee could help out? He or others used to Steam releases may have seen this themselves and know what is causing it.

Looks like steam shortcut does not point right to your files, you must contact with steam, though.

so, i got this message from steam now:

Review of your build has identified one or more issues. Please read and follow these instructions:

Title Launches Fail Hunted - One Step too Far fails to launch on Windows using the Steam client. On launch, the following error message appears:

"Error
Runtime Error: 3002 ()"

The game can be manually launched from the executable file "Hunted - One Step too Far.exe" located in the folder ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Hunted One Step Too Far\Hunted - One Step too Far\ and runs as intended.

BuildID: 1304548

Once you have resolved these issues, you can mark your build for review again

Yes, but that's "Counter-Strike Global Offensive", not "Counter - Strike Global Offensive", it might be the spaces surrounding the - .

Also, I've noticed something that doesn't make sense to me.

Your folder format according to the steam review is :
\Steam\steamapps\common\Hunted One Step Too Far\Hunted - One Step too Far\Hunted - One Step too Far.exe

Why have you put it inside a folder that is inside another folder?

Shouldn't the exe file be in base folder like so? :
\Steam\steamapps\common\Hunted One Step Too Far\Hunted - One Step too Far.exe

So I uploaded again and removed the " - ".

Still Error 3002.

Will try to fix the folder, belidos, thanks!

EDIT:

YES IT WORKS NOW! Looks like the error was caused through that subfolder mistake. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME OUT !

haha no seriously. I mentioned the gameguru forums in the credits. You Guys helped me a lot to make my game and getting me where I am now.
Without you, this would not have been possible. Can't wait to see the first reactions from other gameguru users

Yup, I've seen it, and I did try the demo, I couldn't get far because for some reason the notes weren't appearing when used, I assume that's all working properly now?
