Hi everybody,

I wonder if it is possible to change the texture of an object already in the GG library ?

I would like to use the "wooden bridges" but the texture on them are really different and don't match with the rest of the scenery...

Thanks for advices...

Yes you can these in a paint program.

Replace the textures in the file with your own, but keep the same location or you will need to remap the UV's in a model program.

To preserve the original bridge, it is also a good idea to copy the entity files and rename them as one of your own, in your own folder, and then when the next update happens, your changes are not overwritten.

Thanks for advices !

@Lee,

I copied the entity files in the user folder and renamed them.
Then, I imported the .dbo file in Milkshape3D and retextured it with my own texture...

It's not my creation, but I guess I can use it in my level because I don't distribute it as a separate object... right ?

Take a look on the result...

thanks guys

I'm not really happy with the first light rendering...

This afternoon, I tested differents configurations... and even if there are still errors in the shadows, I prefer this rendering that gives more volume.

What is your opinion compared to the first picture ?
Thanks for comments !

PS: And I look forward to the new characters libraries Lee will add in the next build !!! just to swap the Wizard !

I like the first image better, but that's just me!

I am also looking forward to the new characters! I don't recall whether they will be 3rd person ready, or even if he mentioned it. I'm especially looking forward to the EBE, as I have been wanting to model some 19th century urban and old west style buildings but have been holding off since I don't have much time available lately. (I really wasn't very excited about the EBE initially, since there are already many other ways of doing the same thing, but then, FPSC's segment editor was pretty cool, and if the spirit of that is alive and well in EBE, then go Lee, go!) If I could get so competent as to make a building in 25 seconds, or even a day, I'm sold on the whole idea!

As Jerry said, I prefer the first picture. To me the second one looks a bit grainy and stands out too much against the other models.

i5, NV960 2GB, 16GB memory, 2x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.
i3 , Intel integrated graphics, 6GB memory, 512GB Generic SATAIII Win8.1.
Intel Celeron (duel Core), Radeon integrated graphics, 4GB memory, 180gB Generic SATAII, WinVista.

I understand your feeling ... when you have a project in mind and you don't have yet all the tools to achieve it...

Personally, I expect the characters from the Pack Egypt (I had acquired for use with Dark Basic Pro) just to have characters to interact with to dialogue with (eg: giving clues to progress in the game) and some Mummy ennemies also !

For the moment I realized my designs myself, but I hope the EBE will allow to use our own textures and 16 textures by building is enough for what I need to do !

Also thank you for your appreciation. I also prefer the first picture less contrast and more natural in fact ...

Tonight, I had the time to add the first traps !!! My level begins to take shape !!!

Thanks !
