Ok I have been playing a lot with static lighting and my little " Bots on different levels trick " and wondered what I could do with it ...
I decided to put something together using BSP' WW2 packs and do a Wolfenstein thing ..

Looks like a finished, polished game, probably the best thing I have seen done with GG game play wise so far.

Looks good!! Like a modded early 2000's shooter where the models have been replaced with higher poly versions. Indeed kinda like an RTCW.

If you polish this and give it some visual overhalls this would make a pretty great addition to our demos list. winkwink

Very nice for a GG game. Looks pretty smooth and considering GG's AI, works really well. Nice job.

How do you do the bots on different levels? Do you have raised terrain outside?

Thanks Guys Awesome Response ...Didn't expect some of those comments from users better at this than me ..

Ok how did I get bots on different levels and actually lordjulian was almost there
Its very easy and nothing special and would probably only be any good for the sort of thing I created

I started with a Bunker I made in Sketchup with 2 textures ..... Ok I'm no modeller and can only just load blender ...
so sketchup it was
I then created a plateau in GameGuru so I wouldn't dig into water .... I was kind of making and placing the bunker on the fly so I wasn't sure whether I would go up or down to lower levels ...

Once I placed the bunker level I " Locked it in place "
Then I carefully raised the terrain on the higher levels so it just touched the floor ..
No easy task but an effective cool result as you saw ....

This was the result in the editor

That was the plan ..... Unfortunately my steam account has been hijacked and I have pretty much lost everything including GameGuru and all my DLC's
If I ever get it back then great ...If not then all I have is my current installation and running a shortcut from my exe ...

Once I have to reinstall windows then that's gone as well

I created a plateau ...Raised the Terrain first and used the flattening tool to spread it over a large area ....
So it would actually started life like this .... Then locked ... and the landscape " Raised" to each floor ....
Mine looks like is I dug into the ground down but as you raise and flatten it starts to look that way especially around the lowest area which was the first large room ..
And of course I'm fussy so I made it all look neat and tidy

Steam say if your account be hitjacked, so your system could be compromised too.

hello
This is very , very cool, only problem I see with this is that once game guru gets up dated we probably will use a different system of how computer people are made and work in a level, so this concept while good will only be a temporary but neat way to make a level, and this will not be used in the future or at least not used by very many, but I salute you on showing that game guru will be or is able to make a game . In fact I feel that if wolf and rolfy, and synchromesh, and a few others were to work with each other they might be able to make a decent game with current game guru engine. Synchromesh I was wondering if you going to put the ww2 models for download, I would love to have the german solders to play around with at least until we get some better models. I feel that we really should get some updated models for game guru while the old models are ok they are a little on the old side, and are starting to show there age. But old models are better than no models and I like to make demo levels if nothen else to put my ideas in to action and see how they work and I would like to try out the models to check out some of my level design ideas out. But looks like your having computer problems maybe after you get things sorted out you can put the models here for download. Hope things go better for you in future. Once again very very cool!!

Hi Shivers ...
Yes this is true ...... It wont make a difference to the bunker model or any others we have created .... Whatever system Lee uses whether it be painting a path or a NavMesh system it will be a case of replacing characters either way for most of our maps .... This was just a trick really but it does give a great feeling walking up steps to find more enemies running around

Pretty much all the models are already available from BSP on the store ... Characters, Guns objects .... I just made the Bunker

And the good news is ..... I have my steam account back and all is well again

If you need more information on the Glocke itself, including some (previously?) classified documents, PM me.

As some testers already have educated guessed, it plays its part in "Father's Island".

Hi...

The terrain elevation fits perfectly. Now you just need "die Glocke". I had tinkered a few years time a Flugscheibe. Maybe fits into the concept.

Thanks Lafette II

Now I'm even more keen

Great work on the Game so far! But do you plan on adding your own custom Hud, as that can go along way to making your game stand out from the other GG games.

Good work, really close to the real thing.

Except the Swastika bandoleer, it hadn't such a feature.

And don't forget it was filled with a Beryllium liquid and needed 3 x 8 inch power cables to be supplied.
Upon spinning up, all organic material within the room was heavily altered - liquefied or crystallized. Good luck on scripting that!

@Erltov

I have created a more accurate version since .....
So your saying lose the Swastika and maybe the symbols on the lower band ?
Add more detail like nuts and joints maybe ? Feed back appreciated

@SS slothman .. Hopefully I will try to create all new huds etc ... Retro style bottom band maybe ?
what do you think ..

Well, it's your work of fiction, you can create it however it pleases you

However, I would certainly take care of the power supply cords, as all sources describe them as actually being huge. Like, needing an own power plant nearby, huge.

What of the explanations of the purpose of the Glocke will you pursue in your game?

Yes! Something like this : http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b295/flashn00b/doomhud.png

But maybe without the head/face, I always thought that looked slightly odd having a head on your hud.

The pic only really shows the model .... Not intended as its official location so I can add all that ..
To be honest its started to go from a demo to a project so no storyline yet ..... I was toying with the idea of starting in WW2 ... Then returning to the bunker in present day in a hunt for Die Glocke .... Giving the bunker a dark atmosphere ... loads of traps .. etc ....

Speaking of a more modern day hunt through the bunker for the bell you may wish to check out the movie Outpost (2008) by parker and croft if you haven't seen it for some ideas. I just checked and it's no longer on streaming on netflix but they have the dvd if you have that service.
Perhaps you could have your main character fight through the bunker on a mission to destroy it then disappear in a blast when an officer activates the device. Flash forward to a soldier/merc who learns that's how his grandfather died in WW2 and gears up to finish the job.

Quote: "In a seedy bar in a town ravaged by war, mysterious businessman Hunt hires ex-marine D.C. to assemble a crack team of ex-soldiers to protect him on a dangerous journey into no-man's land. To this gang of hardened warriors, battle-worn veterans and borderline criminals killing is just a job - and one they enjoy. Their mission - to scope out an old military bunker. It should be easy - 48 hours at the most. Lots of cash for little risk, or so he says. Once at the outpost, the men make a horrific discovery that turns their mission on its head - the scene of a bloody and gruesome series of experiments, carried out by the Nazis on their own soldiers during WWII. Amid the carnage, they find something even more disturbing - someone who's still alive. As war rages above ground, and a mysterious enemy emerges from the darkness below, D.C. and his men find themselves trapped in a claustrophobic and terrifying scenario. Their mission is no longer one of safe-guarding - it's one of survival.

You can't kill what's already dead!"

Was a pretty good film, very dark, it was very much less "scripted dialogue" and more "realistic dialogue" which is what I love in films.

It was what I was also about to suggest making a game about . Get some decent Nazi and scientist zombies and go crazy

Many theory's on what Die Glocke was or if it even existed ...
The most extreme being a time machine but considering their technology of rockets and flight it was more likely an attempt at an anti gravity engine that would eventually fit into a ship .. Possibly a haunebu which kind of makes things all fit together ..

Either way theres plenty for a game plot here ...but its still early days and lots to do

I would have to agree .... Totally feasible and probable considering what they were already developing plus there is far more evidence it did exist than didn't ....Like you say though ...whether it worked or not is another thing
