this is not perfect but a WIP. I feel the scifi pack should came with this feature. I am very disappoint in the fact guru lack these type of game mechanics. the Easter pack should have came with something beside the fireball for the bunny. but as I work on this in hope I will find a work around until Lee gets to it. guru does not need better or easier editor build now. it needs more things like this to build a game that make sense with it's game mechanics. this is the stuff fpsc lacks the most and I was in hope guru would pick up from there. Level are already easy to build I have no problem using the snap and grid mode. I also don't understand why some people want to change the size of the terrain when we have three modes that allow you to have super flat terrain which does not use up the performance and blank or no terrain mode. then there is the terrain slider size which will give you more performance. the focus of these things are not a big deal or needed. guru needs more game mechanics like the laser and bullet tracer. needs melee for 3rd person and so many other game mechanics. like ai bot for walking up down stairs and test enable the xbox controller which is already in the code. this will give our game more option and better gameplay. being to focus on the editor is not going help us make better games in this year. this can go two way another year wasted on updates that does add to the gameplay or another year of update that adds to the gameplay and allow us to develop complete games. gamer don't care how we made the game only care about how fun it is to play the game. here is the laser tracer.

that's very nice, did you edit the projectile settings to achieve this?

I totally agree with what you are saying. I like the work you did on the laser, the only comment would be you don't need to eject a shell casing from gun powder. I picked up the Easter pack and you can't go wrong getting that at the price. Maybe there could be more things in there but for the price I'm a happy camper.

@smallg yes it took me some time to get how it works. but the down fall is those projectile names is hard coded. other then that you can change it the way you want.

@DennisW I'm not complaining about the Easter pack I'm just saying the bunny should have something to throw like Easter eggs instead of fireballs. but now i know what to do change that so it don't somewhat matter. it just bugs me that the two new packs that was release did not have the right game mechanics for the gameplay. also I have an idea to change the gun so you don't have to reload the weapon.

@everyone thank you for the kind words. I 'm trying to bash guru but i want it to be set on the right track. when the scifi pack was on the voting board it was suppose to come with laser tracer but i get why that have change. I just wish the main focus was on game mechanics and not on making the editor easier to build levels. just think if it took me mins to figure out how to do this imagine how it would take to just make this something we all can change with the right codes. it can so much to the gameplay and make people look at guru different. I plan to do something with the 3rd person as well in hope my plan works.

good stuff, we need more laser weapons, in fact I thought I saw one in one of Lee's blogs once but I think that was to do with DX11, but can't remember without looking at the archives.

Agreed. The Easter Bunny character weapon kind of threw me off when it was the same firebox weapon as the wizard (essentially). Its also difficult to aim with. I'm hoping to see some new types of weapons in 3rd person. Hopefully one day even all the first person stock weapons.

With Sci-Fi weapons in the past with FPSC they all had a simple blast flak appear but no projectile visible at all. Really hope GG incorporates the effect you have achieved here so our sci-fi weapons actually act as we'd expect them to.

Skip to 5:07 in the video below to see how the laser weapons function in Fallout 4:

yes Teabone now that's what I'm talking. here is another weapon which I like to call it. the guru fire cannon.

as I said I fully understand how this works but need Lee to unlock the limitation of the code. imagine bullet tracers or a blow torch.

The plasma gun kind of reminds me of the BFG from Quake 3.

Are you able to adjust the speed of the projectile? I haven't dug deep enough into GG (I still love it and plan to use it)

@landman I'm going to say I think so from what I'm looking at but not sure. guru need to be an open book to allow us to control so much more.

here is a character using the laser gun in 3rd person.

Yes please, this would be very much appreciated. I tried to do it myself, but I failed miserably, just can't work out which files do what to get it working.

Yep, no dice.
literally every time I copy and modify the fantasy staff and change the gunspec, it becomes a hand that shoots hitscan (verified by dust puff), regardless of projectile configuration and setup.

MXS this is a great job! the most important in your threads, this one and the other about third person, is that expose for me , and maybe for others, why this is not incorporated in the engine already? I 'm a poor programmer , but I think a man like Lee, can do this with his elbows... why , in the name of God , he can't just do this avaliable for all , even though this is not in the voting list that is full in discrepances about features that should come before others...? sorry , just my two cents
