Hello all, here is a project that I have been working on for the past two weeks. My previous building model packs were well received, and I decided that it was time that I put some effort into building larger complexes that could be used more in the context of shooter video games and at the same offer more environments for exploration in open world games.

The primary content in this pack is going to be apartment structures, like what you would see in Soviet Russia or Chernobyl. So imagine something like 1960's and older. I've designed these assets to be completely modular with my previous building packs, so all the doors, flooring, and utilities included in the previous pack will snap and work perfectly with these new models. I am not sure entirely where I want to take this span of this pack. I had a fantastic time taking a break from buildings with my Guru Roads installment, and it really has given me the ability to finally craft complete envirnoments in my personal projects. Alas - you can tell that I fully enjoy building structures and buildings the most.

This project is expected to last multiple weeks/ months until it will finally be bundled and released, but I am going to try my best to match the quality and content of my previous packs.

Here are some preliminary screenshots showcasing one of the residential units that I have contructed in my beta trials:

Screenshots:

Expect more updates in the next few weeks. This is the earliest point I've decided to create a thread for one of my projects. I haven't begun any of the texture work and I am just now finishing up some of the base models for this projects, I hope to be a lot more descriptive this time around with my project so you all can see how it progresses.

As always, please leave your comments and criticisms in this thread as they will help me provide the best possible product and features to Game Guru users.

I particularly like these apartment structures so far - I spent about an hour fleshing out a quick run and gun level with them and they were really fun to explore. Stay tuned

Hello all!

I have exciting news! I have made a lot of progress developing the assets for this pack. Tarkus, you will be pleased with the asset texture you see in this update Don't worry though, it won't be all reused textures, I've developed 5 brand new texture sheets, and more planned in the pipeline yet.

I leave you all today with a few screenshots, and, for the first time, a full length video walking through the entire quad apartment structure. You can really get a glimpse of the scale and flexibility of these models. They are built using a simple kit system, so you could create a 100 story apartment complex if you really wanted to, each with completely enterable units.

Video:

Screenshots:

Please share your comments, questions, suggestions, and criticisms below. I want this to be the best pack I've created yet, and I can only make that happen with some healthy input from the community I had an absolute blast building Guru Roads, and it wouldn't be the pack it is today without the suggestions that were provided by you guys in the development thread.

Thanks for checking this out

Stay tuned for more!

I love your models for lots of different reasons, inspiration, the work that goes in to your texturing, the way the model are built, oh yeah and because they look epic in GG.

These are really impressive and awesome buildings and you have out done yourself again, my only critique here would be if it were possible to give the window frames a more timber frame look, even without they look good, just can't help but imagine them as timber

@Emrys, thanks for the kind words your modeling skills are some of the most impressive on this forum. I was very impressed with your fallout 4 recreation.

@AuShadow, great suggestion, i will incorporate some wood in the frame for the next texturesets.

NEW UPDATE

I had some free time and came up with these HD clutter pieces. what do you think? the quality is crystal clear, but they only use a 1024px texture map. I may do more of them and spin off a new decal pack. I particularlly like the paper one, but the leaves will look good near a building.

HP Pavilion Laptop, AMD A8-4555M APU with Radeon(tm) Graphics HD Graphics 1.6GHz, 8GB Memory, 64 Bit Operating System (Windows 10), 1 TB Hard Drive.

@AuShadow: I hope to have the pack completed in a matter of weeks. A lot of the prototyping has been finished, i just need to clean up the kit's. Another 5 texture sets will need to be drawn up to add to the variation aswell.

@TazMan: thanks so much for the support Taz, your kind words don't go unnoticed

@HarryWever: Thanks Harry - I'm working on some animation with help from someone, I hope to one day bring models to life like you do so well. Cheers

New Update:

Guru Buildings V3, like it's predecessor, will contain numerous house hold items that will be useful for fleshing out the interiors of these large buildings. A lot of the content will work perfectly will the content with V2. There will be a lot of additional flooring aswell for the bedrooms. All of which will be compatible with both packs.

Please leave suggestions for what you would like to see in the pack below

cheers guys more updates will be posted soon

New Update:

Here is an example of the envirnoment you can create with this pack. One of the texture sets I finished is an old, post apocalypse decaying building. Imagine walking around a place that has been abandoned for 100 years or something that has had nature overgrow it. With the combination of some other assets that I have been producing, you create really create a post apocalypse scene. Check out the video below to see what it looks like, I put the scene together in 20 minutes.

Video:

More updates are coming soon. I finished all 10 texture sets for these apartments, they are major improvements compared to the texture sets used in Guru Buildings V2, some of you may be pleased with it.

once again i have to say it. i hope the conkit does not come to guru no time soon. I don't care for it at all because great models like this have us cover for inside level. if guru get the waypoint for character to go up and down stairs this will be great. I think TGC need to set up a schedule time line for when feature to be put in. I feel Lee is behind already and not sticking with the non stop development on guru game plan.

@Bored of the Rings: Thanks man! I really apprecaite the support

@Belidos: Coming very very soon indeed

@synchro thanks man!! Really apprecaite your comments you've always been supportive of my game guru projects

@Jerry Tremble: Thanks

@Tarkus: you're the man I can't wait to see with what envirnoments you create with these!!!! I'll be looking out for your development threads

@MXS That is a good perspective to have, I am glad I can somewhat satisfy that void with the content i produce for Guru. Hopefully, when conkit does make it's debut in Guru it will work hand in hand with content like mine that has been produced to fit that need.

New Update

Here are the smaller 3 story single units. Unlike the others, that are built in kit form, these are simple drag and drop units. They are 3 apartments stacked. Each has a living room, kitchen, and two bedrooms inside, with a front doorway and sidedoorway.

Here are the original 10 texture sets. I may do additional texture sets depending on the reception and support of the pack.

Please submit suggestions for what you would like to see in the pack

Update

The pack is available here on the store. Link to store pack page

Right now it only has the assets that have been approved, many many more are still being developed and waiting to be approved.

Here are some renders of some of the 3 story complete units

Next up I have to work on some more props and items for the pack. Suggestions for what to add would be awesome

@MXS your sink is finished and is going in the pack

I have been busy working on this pack. I have been prototyping a new kit, a soviet style Panel Apartment structure, like the ones seen in seen in eastern European countries.

The way the apartments are setup, is in the form of a kit. Similar to the other apartment models in this pack, there is a bottom piece, a middle piece, and a top piece. Because of this, you can create as many stories as you would like, and every single apartment room is enter-able. Each apartment is complete with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living area and small kitchen area.

This is pretty crazy in terms of depth, as the poly count is kept fairly low. Al You can literaly create a fully functional apartment complex, and populate each room with objects, characters(when guru supports it) and items. The textures are still kept high quality up close due to some clever symmetry. The kicker though - it uses the same Atlas Texture map as all the buildings in Guru Buildings V2 and the other ones in this pack! This means that I will be able to expand the offerings of this pack tremendously, once I finish the prototype and move towards an actual complete kit. Expect 5 unique texture sets for this kit, and use this kit with 10 texture sets that have already been created, and I will be creating all the entity's to make this ready.

More updates later next week.

As soon as I can i'll be getting this pack teamhalo. (Short on funds at the moment.)

As for things to add to the pack, well..... old desklamps, sinks, vents, ducts, aircons, sections of destroyed walls that would match the new buildings in texture etc, old fencing, warning signs, (like in guru roads) Just a few ideas

Awesome work as ever.

@Belidos: Keep at it man! Large projects take a lot of time and dedication to complete, don't worry about taking a long time. Sometimes I will take months to finish personal projects Unfortunate about your machine

@Tarkus: You are my #1 supporter! So glad and happy you are satisfied with my other models and your support definitely is noticed. I really apprecaite your suggestions with this pack, I will take some into account.

@Teabone: Thanks for your support! Haha trust me sometimes I'm modeling somelike like a lamp or a clock and I have the same reservations! Balancing everything can be a challenge.

Update

no new models yet. store is taking a long time to approve content so those floors are still waiting for approval. they will be added to the pack once approved. here are some more shots of the new apartment models. Honestly they are the most vast buidlings I've created. You could populate an entire level using these for enteriors, I am having a blast creating levels with them. I really wish my multiplayer worked because I would love to play test them with you guys.

Heres more shots:

Additional Screenshots

I am still testing the kit and will have to correct some errors here and there. The pack, when finished, will have over 10 versions of this kit, and you can build huge apartment structures. All the doorways work with Guru Doors : V1, which contains 50 animated doors for Game Guru.

More updates coming soon

Thank you to all of my supporters

@Tarkus That video was awesome, you put a lot of time into designing your levels and make really good use of all the media that you have I can't wait to see what you will do with the new buildings being added to the pack

The new kits are almost finished, I am going to try to created some varied types as well.

The good news, my Game Guru Store, Valuable Assets, has been selected as a "Verified Artist". What this means- I will no longer have to wait for TGC approval for all of my assets, and will be able to ship content a lot faster and quicker, which means more happy users Expect to see some new content later this week

Cheers all
