ok, here you go for a workaround on this model.
In the above picture you can see the blue lines. they are bones objects, and there are a lot of them.
This model will need to be flattenen to use the entity_basic.fx shader. go into bone mode and choose remove all bone assignments and then pick the blue spheres and delete each one. Then re export it.
But what does work with light mapping is assignning this object with the character_basic shader and then doing you light mapping. F4 in my case pictured below.
Produces the correct response and takes just a few minutes to light map.
Hope that helps till you can get the model flattened out.
