Hello,

I try to import models from 3ds max to Game Guru.
I wonder what should I do when I have a model that has more than one single texture map. For example, I downloaded a police car model that has more than one texture map: one for the car body, one for the siren, one for the glass. I want to import this model to Game Guru, and to my understanding I have to convert the textures to 3 separate files: _d, _n, _s.
I converted only the body texture to _d, _n, _s and I attached a picture of how it looks in the game scene (the siren is black). How can I add the texture of the siren to the model, even though it comes as a separate texture file?

Thanks in advance!

Check that the path(s) in the .X file is correct. I usually do a search on texturefilename and check the paths and if necessary do a search/replace globally. Maybe also convert your TGA files to DDS (although this isn't normally a problem) and ensure the textured= in the FPE file is blank. Delete the old bin/dbo files and then rerun GG and select your model again. In the past, some of the models I exported from 3DS max also came out black so doing the above normally resolves this issue.

Usually this have too much to do with that issue, meanly with multi-texture items.
When you download item, usually it comes with their own paths, IE: E:\my police car\textures\my police car.png. So you've to reassign textures in max, point to yours paths.

use dxt1 compression for the .dds texture, unless making glass in it, then dxt 5 with and alpha mask for the glass.

Hi

I solve it with 2 other models I just used the original folder of the model with the tga textures

and I converted the obj file in 3d max to X files, and I added to the folder fpe code and in the line of the

texture I left it empty line and in the game guru its works perfect.

thanks.
