If I make my own hair styles and place them into the Character Kit entities folder, will they be available in the Character Creator or will there need to be some scripting tweaks so the Character Creator can access them?

The question was if you make hair for Character creator parts and put it in the folder will it read it for use.

Yes it will, no scripting needed. you will have to create a .cci file for it and the thumbnail preview.

Trying to get the name of the bone for this, as the head piece needs to be at the 0,0,0 location in your model program.

For the head itself:
Head mesh placed at origin, pivot will be the point at which is snaps to 'BIP01 head'

'LOD_0' 'LOD_1' 'LOD_2' are skinned to a bone (separate to the rig) also named 'BIP01 Head'. This is bone is positioned at the origin.

2 dummy objects are linked to 'BIP01 Head' (by hierarchy, not skinned). 'Bip01 FacialHair' controls where facial hair will be positioned. 'Bip01 Headgear' controls where hats/hair will be positioned.

Export all with skinning, no animation.

CCI naming for heads. -

Must start with fmale_ or male_ . Must end with _head

The beards of the original list are kind of bugged in the editor...anyone ever notice this? they kinda double and hang off the side strangeley if you place a character in your map that has any sort of beard on.
The only stupid questions are those that were never asked.

Your welcome.

One thing to note is that at present we cannot have store items with custom character creator heads, as the multiplayer side will not detect any not default heads and so break the game. We will be addressing that in the future, but right now we cannot have custom heads on the store.

Custom heads will work fine for your own solo games and standalone however.

There is still a lot changing with this, so some things cold change about it. It is a relatively new feature.

So a twitch feed might not be the best right now. This procedure assumes that you know how to rig and skin meshes already, and if you do then the instructions are straight forward.

I can understand about the custom heads, but does this also apply to custom hair or helmets? Could I supply some free hair in the free models forum with instructions on how people can add them to their game with the disclaimer that they will not work in multiplayer?

Yes, Pretty much everything that deals with character creator right now, is a no go in the store, There is a few folders that the info is put in and would need to be set up in the store routine to be able to download so it works out of the box. Again a feature for the future, when this functionality develops a little more.

you could distribute them free in the forum, And state they are not good for multiplayer yet.

And thank you in advance.
