Hello everyone!

Today is a great day for you, me and GameGuru.
After dozens of tests (RainBoxV1 to RainBoxV3 and SnowBoxV1) and with the valuable help of many of you here are the first official management of the weather in GameGuru

Principle:

- You place your PlayerStart and you place it either rain or snow; it will follow you automatically (through LUA scripting Corno_1) and even if you climb a mountain the snow or rain will hit the ground so you will more display bug and animations are in 64 frames for stextures HD for snow and 4K UHD for rain!

You will also have 2 type of snow: Snow slow (classic) and rapid snow (blizzard).

Everything is completely free for all your games either free or they later sold. You are completely free to do anything with this pack.
However if you sell your game check that Corno_1 (forum member) accepts the use of its LUA scripting (just to be right with him ^^).

VIDEO DEMONSTRATION:

DOWNLOAD: Attached (allow 100Mb of available hard disk to expand the ZIP archive !).

INSTALLATION:

1). Unzip the ZIP archive
2). In the folder "entitybank" take "SnowBoxV2" and "RainBoxV4" and place them in the following directory: "GameGuru \ Files \ entitybank".
3). In the folder "scriptbank" take "rainbox_followplr.lua" and "snowbox_followplr.lua" and place them in the following directory: "GameGuru \ Files \ scriptbank".
4). In the folder "effectbank \ Reloaded" take "effect_animate64.fx" and place it in the following directory: "GameGuru \ Files \ effectbank \ reloaded \".
5). Enjoy!

USE:

1). Place your PlayerStart (FPS or TPS).
2). Place the rain or snow to the player of your choice from the center.
3). That's it!

Thank you all for your support !!!

Viva GameGuru!

@ corno and devcore, how about a trigger zone that cancels the rain when in that area or something so that you can add buidings and it stops the rain till you go outside, you can add a basic rain decal outside so it still gives the effect i was working on this in x10 years ago and never fully got it going, but if can do an in zone script to stop the process then you have solved the issue

ps awesome work guys and thankyou for sharing
an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!

Ooooh yeah! This is great. Thanks very much

Ps: Does anyone know how to stop the rain (V3 or else) from falling inside buildings (most of them at least)?

Commercial and uncommercial use are allowed

Quote: "how about a trigger zone that cancels the rain when in that area"

Download the following scripts:
snowbox_followplr.lua in main rainzone
snowbox_indoor in main of trigger

Edit(13.06.2015): Please redownload it. I found a good way to solve this problem. Now everthing should work like you want
Commercial and uncommercial use is allowed.

This gave me an idea, we could then apply a more wet shader to all our entities outside and it would actually look more damp out.

Excellent work, if snowbox is following player you could make the the box a lot smaller to increase the texture resolution and it would look perfect
It is a far better method than particles which would kill the frame rate.

Hello rolfy,

Thank you for the encouragement!
To reduce or increase the SnowBox Rainbox or just change the size in the FPE file via Scale and this should resolve some display problems or quality of the animation
