A brief glimpse of an island that should serve as a stimulus for a little game. I have loaded the engine with a lot of polygons and can happily note that the map works pretty smoothly despite my onboard graphics (vega11). I really haven't saved and don't use LOD. The last update did not cause any damage either. So I'm completely satisfied Only one thing annoys me (a little) ... I am currently not able to create a water surface as an object, all shaders that I used for it no longer work

@Lafette II - As always superb work in this thread, always great to see what you will be creating next. Top rate artist. The cannons and the 30 year war soldiers are amazing.

Thank you very much ... The trees may still be ok. But I'm looking for a shader like the one in "tree it". All my gimmicks with the vegetation shader from GG were unsuccessful for me. I also don't know how the whole thing affects performance, but it would be interesting to animate a tree this way from time to time. I have been dealing with "The hunter classic" for a while now, in my opinion the trees that are used are a stunner. Simply constructed and used effectively. The successful level lighting certainly helps me to use the simulation more often. The game itself is not so interesting for me because it is more aimed at people with a hunting feeling, but I find the maps very good. I am also aware that Gameguru has limits. Nevertheless, I always want to achieve the best result with the least effort. m2design has done a lot in terms of forest design, of which I am very impressed.

It's no longer apocalyptic, but I think I'm getting a little closer to reality. This is GameGuru. There are engines that can do that better, but there are also engines that can't. I will continue to deal with nature before it slowly disappears. It would be nice to move the leaves a bit with the help of a subtle shader.

@ Tarkus Thank you...

Well, I clapped this map together in half an hour. If you devote more time and dedication to the design, you can also create your own small virtual world with the GAMEGURU. And the performance is also impressive compared to the past. I walked the card with an average of 34 fps, with onboard graphics (vega11). The graphic equipment should nevertheless be used somewhat more modestly in the event of war or other use of animated objects. A discreetly coordinated heather mix was put together for a varied grass design. If you don't put the vegetation too close and a little higher, you can do it quite well. Now I would only have to create better skyboxes that are not too high in contrast, and then ....

I got the curve after all. I'm fully back in handicraft mode. The forest history leaves me no peace. Now I have discovered this pond while roaming my forest. It's still free of garbage and all that. I dream of a shader that gets the leaves in the trees moving. Too bad the Tree it shader would be just right for it ....

Thank you for the comments.
@ JC Leon This is a good idea that I still have to come up with, or are there such things and where can I find them?
@ PCS Below are a few more impressions because I had to fill the pond. But I have created a new pond. It looks a bit artificial, but well. Note .. In the background you can now find a few light rays. I followed a suggestion and am now considering how to use it easily. And last but not least, this has now been declared a campsite.
@ Ertlov I will probably post the stuff on my website when I finish.

Thanks bluemeenie195, I will devote myself to the falling leaves.

I'm not finished with my forest, the first residents are already there. When I tried to plant a tree, I discovered an elk. I didn't want to startle him, so I didn't go closer to him. Who knows what else is there?

Now I have reached the end of the flagpole as far as my options are concerned. I added falling leaves and moved leaves in the trees. I implore the shader programmers, please try to edit the vegetation shader so that it is easy to use. I have absolutely no idea of the stuff and have achieved what I see in the video with my limited knowledge. Maybe I'm a bit presumptuous, but I had no loss in the FPS range, well 2-3 FPS, because I added a few flowers and also put the moving leaves over the finished trees. So you could still save a lot of triangles. Furthermore, based on my current status, I believe that the shader solution is the better and probably more performance-friendly solution. But I will test this further to find out exactly.

@ bluemeenie195 If you allow, I will upload my version. Maybe you can use that a little too. I animated the leaves. That makes for a little variety.

@ teamhalo Thanks, but not all objects are mine ...

I can now continue to work on my forest, even though I suffered a small setback. It is probably not possible to make the shader trees from one piece. I always have to separate the crown from the tree trunk. Sometimes I even have to turn the leaves by 90 ° because the object is distorted by higher heights. For this reason, it is not possible to scale the trees properly. It is not very comfortable. However, the results are impressive. I once did a small mass test with around 300 trees and achieved a frame rate of around 40 FPS. But I had just put up trees. Now I have started to create a test level to get more precise values. I use bent sprites as background. By setting these backgrounds in 3 rows, I get an effect like parallax scrolling and thus a 3D effect. Of course you shouldn't stand in front of it. Perhaps it would be best to use a few rocks as a frame and the sprites above it. Then you can't see through the illusion.I can now continue to work on my forest, even though I suffered a small setback. It is probably not possible to make the shader trees from one piece. Hi...
Also at the risk that no sow is interested, I finished a few things and created this little video. For gameguru it is actually quite successful if not ...........
Well, now I have the 3> Too bad <again:
Too bad. I'm too lazy to change the engine ...
Too bad. The performance leaves something to be desired (about 26 fps)
Too bad. Unfortunately I cannot use complete trees with moving leaves.
But I stay on the ball and still try to make the best out of the small game editor.

@ Tarkus1971 ... Thank you

It's amazing what you can achieve with just a small number of objects. This scene contains only 10 different trees. Change the size a bit and twist it individually, and the swamp is done.

The first flock of sparrows is ready. I'll probably make a few more owls or something and a few pigeons ... Just to enrich the scenes.

Guys, thank you for the nice comments.
I will soon place a new pack in the store with the theme: Nature
But first I leave this little study to you: smoking rock.
Actually I wanted to get to the end when I found this material for a rock. You can take him well for an RPG, I think. I will provide the rock and the 2 particle objects for download. It would be nice if someone uses it and then shows a picture of it.

It will be available for download tomorrow.

Hi..
Always slowly with the young horses. I have now parked the flying objects (10 pieces) in the store. I hope the critters are usable. In order to receive special flight maneuvers, appropriate scripts would have to be created. And ... the animals are always in flight mode.

I will offer some rocks and trees in the store shortly.

I have now put 2 small packs in the store. And as an encore there is a free horror crow. The scripts are not effective, but for people with LUA understanding it should be possible to prepare the critters for a game. This crow was supposed to be just a little gag, but well ...

@ JC LEON Thank you for the trust you have placed in me.

@ Everyone who downloaded the horror crows, I don't know if you can use the stuff. The scripts are not optimal, but maybe someone has already done something with them. I would also be interested in a solution ...

The script of the flutter crows is ok. Only the attacking crow is not optimal. I don't have a script for escaping birds. Maybe I'll make some reddish rocks if I have time.

@ Granada Thank you very much

After some changes I have now completed the probably last set of trees. Of course there are foliage-animated trees. I will put this package back in the store. However, uploading is unlikely to be worthwhile. All in all, they are special things and therefore not in great demand. But if you want to build a forest in a simple way, you have a good start with all that stuff, I think.

Here with another skybox

my last forest package: beech trees.
Because the topic is currently running (no end). I have decided to end my topic. These will be the last trees.

It’s strange. The color appearance of the static trees changes depending on the skybox. In this video it becomes clear that I forgot to change the color of the textures . For this reason, I always created 2 texture sets. The static set should be adapted to the skybox used.
