I have my Source code and i am working on AM 1.4 i tried to be clever and add 4k resolution to menu screens it broke my software
so basically i scrapped that part of the code and have re written it to unfortunately the max screen resolution of Classic 1920x1200

i am not a professional coder i just know what i need from AM to make life easier hence why a built it in VB.NET i do not know C++ and because i am working through books and research it as taken me longer than i had hoped please bear with me i will get 1.4 out as soon as possible t is very rough but works menus can be made in seconds rather than hours

I'm also interested in this, also. It looks to be shaping up to be an excellent tool. But, to be frank, I'm waiting to see how GameGuru MAX turns out when released. If I can't create an actual stand-alone game with it (like the various complaints I've read about Classic), then I can't see myself investing in any tools for it, no matter how excellent they are.

Hi Kev,

Ive tried update from V1.3, but no Luck.
It download successfull and then stop for not opening the Assetmanager14.zip file

Anyway, I've download the file from the link, and install.

I bought 1.3 july 2019. So I used the License file you send, but It don't register 1.4

That's awesome! Thanks for adding this.

One suggestion, if you don't mind - would it be possible to move icon injector to it's own place instead of being part of the Menu Creator? I only ask this because a custom icon for your EXE is not a part of a menu and, as a result, I wouldn't never intuitively find this where it is currently located.

thank you

@Argent_Arts yes i think i will put it under Advance on the tools menu,

i put it on menu creator because that was the last source i had open LOL being lazy, i am also working on a .ico generator which will allow you to load in a .jpg or .png and use that as an icon

its took me all day to do this but i did not give up Icon files are the most difficult image to write with code what a nightmare,

so far i can create 32x32, 16x16 which are a little too small for desktops but they work so now you can convert any PNG image to an icon, if you already have software that creats .ico files that is fine too you can just inject an ico you already have.

so before i release this update i will add more sizes to the .ico header on export not easy task but i can do it LOL

I have had a report this morning that AVG blocks Asset Manager from running correctly, this is a known issue with Visual Studio compiled applications, if you are using AVG or AVAST please add Asset Manager directory to exceptions list.

Asset Manager has a code signing certificate, you can check for authenticity of the application by right clicking on the exe then select properties and choose the Digital Signatures tab.

you can also upload the .exe to an online scanner like VirusTotal

Has anyone encountered this problem with any AV program ?
Personally i do not like AVG or AVAST i think they cause a lot of unnecessary issues, i am using Windows 10 and have found the built in AV along with Malwarebytes more than capable and a lot less overhead on my system resources.

I use Avast free but have not encountered any issues as of yet.
Adding a program to an exceptions list is common with many apps ( especially 3rd party ) its no biggie as that's what its there for. A lot can also depend on the settings of the virus program.

Last video for a while i promise ,

Icons are now created with all sizes 256, 64, 48, 40, 32, 28, 20, 16 all 32 Bit was a challenge, i am pleased with the outcome.
The best way to create your own icons is to use a pixel square image i.e 300x300 is the recommended minimum to allow you to create your image easily, just make sure your image is larger than 256x256 AM will reduce larger images and create all icons for you.

I know it as taken a long time and i apologise for that

I'm thinking GraphiX has a real winner here!
I don't know if there's already third party tools for the big titles...
some have a built in tool ...? but
Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, LumberYard, Gdot, GameMaker Studio,
even Blender or all the other smaller users might possibly find
some use for this. Not sure about the menu making parts-- just
don't know- but why not?
I don't even have it just yet, but it's gotta be the real deal!

Usually its only RPG Creator type things that give you a menu editor rather than 3D engines .
Others like leadwerks seem to give you a menu.lua and leave you to it but GG's system is kind of unique so I don't think it would work well for others but I could be wrong ?
Its fully Compatible with Max though including all the other tools within it . That's a bonus

Several 3D game engines include a menu creator - S2 Engine HD and Skyline Engine come to mind. Godot may not have a menu editor per se, but it does have specific things to make it pretty easy to create menus so you don't have to code them from scratch. Unreal gives you specific Blueprints to help with this for those that don't code (or that code visually). So, yeah, there are several 3D engines out there that give you a means of easily creating menus and splash screens right out of the box. And, as you've alluded to, RPG makers and most 2D engines, like Fusion, offer some method of creating menus.

that's not a menu creator its a headache .. I did try that .. faster in GG
Besides Im pretty sure that comes with the Easy GamePack DLC so its not really built in .. but I could be wrong.
Still not many , I mean GG gives you the means if your including that in the count.

Although annoying its actually easier than most mentioned because the template is there and editable,
But absolute doddle with the Asset Manager.

No. S2 has a complete GUI editor integrated into the system. It's part of the S2 Engine editor. You can also do some design work via GameMachine, too (their visual programming language).

Well I did say I could be wrong
Still leaning towards GG being the easiest to do though even in its raw format without a built in editor, Hell even I managed it

no no lol you download from where ever i post a link, you register from within Asset Manager the download will be fully functional for a limited time without purchase.

I am debating on whether to put it on the store as a trial version so that people can download from there it will of course be free on the store and you pay through registration, i have asked about store integration and waiting for a response, because technically my software is not free so it may cause some confusion, so for the time being i have to post download links where ever i can.
