Nice stuff! Mega Pack 3 is one of the few dlc's I do not have. Mostly because I own most of the stuff (included in mega pack 3) from the old days of gold member packs. It is mildly annoying not to have those updated, when they were considered perks of paying for gold privileges. All the mega packs are indicative of this I would add. I own Mega pack 2 but even that one has duplicates around the place from the old pre-Steam days.

I noticed that pretty quickly with the old models lol, if they are the same as I think they are. It reminded me of the thing Blender does (or used to) exported objects normally reversed the images for some reason.

I haven't checked the buildings out since the update yet but they look way better from the pictures TGC should buy him some software to help him make some new model packs easier! There must be something he could use that would help his productivity and make his life easier ;p

Just a little update... work continues...

Mega Pack 3 is taking up 99% of my time this is a challenge I have almost completed, I take time off it now and again so far I am 543 hours in with it :

Completed so far:

made a couple of mistakes due to tiredness and monotony so have cut my 10 hour days down to 8 with days off every now and again Pirate Myke is helping me now so as taken a lot of pressure off, his work is awesome he has done quite a few now and they are superb.

not sure how many hours this will be I have left the worst till last:

Left to do:

whats the model pack you have ? it is probably an old pack so the first thing you need to do is check the models, PBR textures and lighting is not forgiving and will highlight any geometry issues, the models have to be in very good condition for PBR to work right.

That's like saying i have a car, how can i service the engine? You need to learn how to texture a model in general first, and that depends on what modelling program etc. you use.

very nice PBR stuff but with no real multiplayer no one want to play GG games ;( it is the sad reality
just tell me one GG developer that has people all over the world playing his games in steam
in GG we do games for our own belly button because no one cares about
show me a single video of any one playing any gg game in live stream and put in you tube
especially with their friends
come on people let us be real nowadays people kids and adults wanto to play with their friends
and why buy GG with free CSGO in steam
so it is a petty so many great developers like Duchenkuke so many nice 3d stuff in Gameguru and no on cares about and why ?
No Multiplayer that is it

https://www.game-guru.com/showcase
i would love to play this great levels in AI and Friends together
but I'm not going to force each of my friends to buy a copy of the game not rather the development engine, it does not make any sense in the current rules of the market and it seems that GG does not see this.
I am sorry for my hard words but call me crazy if i am wrong

Quote: "very nice PBR stuff but with no real multiplayer no one want to play GG games ;( it is the sad reality
just tell me one GG developer that has people all over the world playing his games in steam
in GG we do games for our own belly button because no one cares about
show me a single video of any one playing any gg game in live stream and put in you tube
especially with their friends
come on people let us be real nowadays people kids and adults wanto to play with their friends
and why buy GG with free CSGO in steam
so it is a petty so many great developers like Duchenkuke so many nice 3d stuff in Gameguru and no on cares about and why ?
No Multiplayer that is it

https://www.game-guru.com/showcase
i would love to play this great levels in AI and Friends together
but I'm not going to force each of my friends to buy a copy of the game not rather the development engine, it does not make any sense in the current rules of the market and it seems that GG does not see this.
I am sorry for my hard words but call me crazy if i am wrong

Just a bit of the progress I have made with some of this pack. Side by side video of the furniture and some of the building and ruins.

As far as re texturing goes. Dive in with both feet. Make a backup first of what you want to change. Keep the new in a separate folder so GG updates dont wipe it out.

Start with the model. Make sure smoothing groups are good and you dont get weird face normal shadows as you see in the following video.

Make sure the are no intended holes in the model, and more then likely the old LOD meshes have been wielded into the base mess during the last conversion and will need to be manually stripped from the mesh. Once that is all complete, you can open your textures in a paint program and start.

First decide if the texture just needs a color change or you want a completely different look. Duplicate the color layer and paint in the exact spots or you will be re uv mapping this model also.

Once you have that, then work on your normal map. Try and make it clearer and cleaner. You can de saturate the color texture and convert that to normal in many programs. When that is good, you can do the gloss map. White is dull and black is shiny. Then the metalness map. Black is non metal, white is metal.

Then you will need you AO map. This you will need to figure out how to do in which ever paint program you are using.

Once you have all that done, test in GG and then make further corrections.

There are a bunch of meshes you will need to remake as they just dont work right and trying to fix them takes longer to do then just remaking them. If you have to get that far, then re texture is useless and you might as well make your own.

Nice improve so far. Some times gives more work repair/modify a model than does it for scratch, specially if the model is not your.

Some meshes have had to be redone from scratch … Graphix and Myke have spent nearly 1000 hours on this pack
